It's been 7 days... Why do I still have to play in windowed?

Post » Sat Sep 11, 2010 1:09 am

As the title says, it's now been a full week since launch. I can't play the game in anything other than windowed mode, because I have an HD5970. The flickering CAN NOT be addressed any other way but windowed mode.

You made us pay $10 over what a normal PC game goes for.... Which I happily did.... But this is ridiculous. At this point, I would not have bought the game.

This is ludicrous. Where do I go to get a refund?

I should also point out that it's not simply having to play in windowed mode either...

You told us that the server launching issues WOULD BE FIXED when the game launched. They aren't. It's a full week later and they STILL aren't.

Your quickplay doesn't even work.

The collision detection when you DO get into a game seems to be horrible about 30% of the time.

AND WE STILL DON'T HAVE FIXES FOR ANY OF THIS!

Edit: Complete lack of any type of Cheat software... Really? Yet, you allow the (few) ranked servers to still rank?

1.The flickering is a driver problem
2.I dont have problems with the servers
3.Quick play works, its just that nobody is using it and they're using the server browser (like a PC gamer should)

Just downloaded them hoping they would work. They didn't.

Also, I've called AMD, they've assured me it's a problem on Crytek's side.

Servers
  • Ranked servers failing to start
Some ranked servers are failing to load into the game. This is a known issue that we are currently investigating. If you find yourself in a game lobby without voting options or a game countdown then you should leave the lobby and find another game as this one will not load correctly. We will post updates on this issue in this thread when they are available.

You don't have this issue, but the rest of the world does?

Are you playing standard (ranked) games alone?

* Youtube HD Flash video now renders correctly.
* Enabling Anti-Aliasing no longer causes figure to have a bright outline in Medal Of Honor Single Player mode.

Resolved Issues for the Windows XP Operating System

* Need for Speed Shift no longer randomly crashes during gameplay.

Known issues under the Windows 7 operating system
The following section provides a summary of open issues that may be experienced under the Windows 7 operating system in the latest version of AMD Catalyst. These include:

* Bulletstorm may display random corruption when DirectX 9 mode is selected.
* PowerDVD 10 player may crash randomly if Crossfire is enabled/disabled during BluRay playback.
* Playing Dirt 2 in DirectX 11 mode may display random corruption while driving through water.
* Star Wars Jedi Knight II / Jedi Academy may crash randomly during launching.

Known Issues under the Windows Vista Operating System
The following section provides a summary of open issues that may be experienced under the Windows Vista operating system in the latest version of AMD Catalyst. These include:

* System may hang while playing Dead Rising 2.

Known Issues under all Windows Operating Systems
The following section provides a summary of open issues that may be experienced under all supported Windows operating systems in the latest version of AMD Catalyst. These include:

* LCD Overdrive settings may not be retained after enabling/disabling Crossfire.

Those are the new driver notes.

Mentions NOTHING about Crysis2, so.... Wherever you got your information that they were "designed to fix the crysis 2 flickering".... They were wrong.

Edit: In fact.... it's not even mentioned under the "known issues".

I'd really like an official reply here, you've hardly even acknowledgedly the problem. (The most we've gotten is a link to a work around.)

Can we get some info here, or at least answer my question of "How do I get a refund for this?"

Sure, which also cuts the frame-rate in half for some reason, nullifying the whole reason we're trying to use Multi-GPU setups in the first freaking place.

I've not played it at all yet, as this is what I see.

Not to mention SLI also breaks the motion blur and turns it into a glitchy distracting effect.

Is anything being done about this? I could put a working game on my valuable SSD's while I wait instead of this non-functional mess.

The flickering has been confirmed a Crysis 2 issue--apparently it started after the very first day-1 patch.

ATI users....Radeon Pro !

I have 5970s and using Radeon Pro using Bioshock X-Fire profile I got rid of flickering day one..no windowed mode...no flickering..no loss of picture quality...no stretching...nothing but 60 fps.

Heh, check what happened when I tried dedicating my 3rd GPU to physX so it was only running 2 way SLI.

now THATS some flickering , lol :)

So they have time to delete my spam-posts in the Multi-GPU thread (okay I was pissed and slightly drunk last night) but they can't pop in to tell us whether a fix for this is in 1.2?

Windowed mode is not the solution . It's a crappy work-around that results in the same FPS as having no SLI anyhow.

I'll wait to play it now it's meant to be. Not gimped with 1/2 the FPS.
