I just started the Dawnguard quest and Im being asked to speak with the leader of Dawnguard to join, how do I join the vampire clan instead? Am I forced to join Dawnguard? Or is this part of the questline?

Please no spoilers, Im just confused about how this works.

Just carry on,it's part of the quest line.

join the Dawnguard, you will be invited later on in the quest line

After a certain point in the quest you will have a choice. Don't worry just keep doing the quests eventually you will be able to join the vampires.

to join the vampires you must first join the dawnguard...you will see hehe...then the vampire lord gives you the choice to join him, and he shows off to try and impress you.

I have not yet purhased it (missing 200 MS), but isn't going to be a little weird for my Vamp character to join the Sect of Vampire hunters, or is there an explanation?
