Ben 10

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 2:54 pm

Ok, I've watched this show from day one and with each season I felt it got better. Then Ultimate Alien came 'round and I felt that it was beginning to wane. But now, by the end of the season it's gotten good again.

Now, here is where I feel the series amd franchise is now going to lose me.

Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens

WTF is this? It canonical does not make sense. And to boot, it svcked. Then I see a new series is going to premier.

BEN 10: Omniverse

This show looks like a cross between Ben 10, Scooby Doo and Pokemon and it looks loke absolute GARBAGE! I'll watch this new show but I can't see myself getting past the first episode.

I know on this forum there aren't a lot of fans of Ben 10 but I'd like some input from other members who do watch this show and their opinions on the direction, "Man of Action" has taken with it.

I liked the original, but haven't seen much of the grown up episodes. And yeah, killing all the aliens, what? The purpose of the omnitrics was to unite all the aliens and bring understanding. Plus, the show is also about defying those who seek to create rifts in interxenos relations.

I think I saw a total of 2 seasons before I decided that the show wasn't for me. If only Hanna-Barbera had stayed in business or WB kept producing Looney Tunes...

I enjoyed what I saw of the original seasons. It was good imo. Can't say much on the newer stuff since I don't have a tv to watch it on.

Destroy all Aliens wasn't so much about the omnitrics bit Azmuth and his son. But it felt like a forced story. Plus it was all CGI but it looked cheap as hell. Not to mention it was set in the past during the first season when he was still in school. Even the two live action movies fit with the story. But Destroy all Aliens does not. I just feel like "Man of Action" is taking the series and franchise is a different direction and I feel as though it's the wrong direction. I feel like they are alienating their fan base for a younger demographic.

There are actually new Looney Tunes episodes, or at least, within a year old. My daughter watches them every weekday at around 3pm I do believe. They aren't quite the same as the previous Looney Tunes, taking a more daily life aspect to the cartoons(Daffy Duck lives with Bugs, Bugs has a steady girlfriend, as does Daffy. Wile E Coyote still goes after the Road-Runner, but it's a bit less slapstick to it). It's actually pretty good!

No. Just no. The new Looney Tunes are anything otger than 'pretty good'. "Terrible", "horrible", "[censored]" come to mind when refrencing the new Looney Tunes. But this thread is about Ben 10. :)

I'm with the OP having watched this from day 1 and enjoyed it. Really felt fresh, original, and had a great well written story that got better with time. Unfortunately with the release of the new stuff it feels as though it's getting dragged out for more $$$ by CN. Forgot to watch the new episode this morning with it feeling like I didn't miss anything to be honest. Feels like the heart of the show kind of got yanked out with the creators of the show forced to develop new things cause the heads of CN keep paying them money to do it. When a series runs its course they just trash it then move on creating another "in line" series which is depressing.

Truthfully I think this current format will be it for me then i'm really giving up on the show.

I didn't care for the show when I saw it on occasion, my nephew really liked it though. I still like it more than Johnny Test, it baffles me people can tolerate that show.

I thought the original was pretty cool, but it lost me after a while.

The first season was good, when they were kids. Then it just got lame. I rather have more Teen Titans.

I miss Teen Titans. I think this is the last season of Ben 10 for me, the short teaser commercials fir Omniverse are not painting a very good picture.

The original, Ben-as-a-child material was okay. The teenage stuff svcked and I've lost all interest since.

It's a kids show aimed at kids. I don't expect much from those kinds of shows. I was lucky to grow up with the really classic cartoons, before teen angst and robots seeped in to it all.

I'm 34, so did I. But, Ben 10, Ben 10: Alien Force and Ben 10: Ultimate Alien were very well done shows; well Ultimate Alien a little less so than the other two shows. But Omniverse doesn't look good at all.

I kind of want Thundercats to get more aire time.

Original G1 Transformers, and G.I. Joe, and Go Bots and original Thundercats. I love the new Thundercats though.

I'm going to be sad when Ben 10: Ultimate Alien is off, cause then I'll only have Young Justice to watch on Saturday morning now.

I only apply this to shows like Sponge Bob withhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-60RJ0Vo1I. That's really the kind of programming aimed at parents that hate dealing with their kids imho. They want to sit their little "bundles of joy" down in front of the quote unquote idiot box to keep their kids occupied while they do something fun.

Have to say that shows are dieing a slow painful death not due to writers, directors, or visionaries, but due to companies that only care about making money. Why i'm so thoroughly impressed by Lauren Faust and that MLPFIM show that followed Walt Disney's idea of advlts are just kids grown up and if you only aim for kids you are dead.

Still miss Ren and Stimpy with their raunchy gags and I do miss Teen Titans. Still kind of PO'd that Symbionic Titan got the axe when the show as really getting good.

I was wondering what had happened to Symbiotic Titan. I liked that show.

Ya I read that it got axed which was very disheartening. The show as actually growing more interesting, and just as we started to learn some more things about what was going on. Really like Tartakovsky's work and Samurai Jack was an epic adventure that really should have been finished properly. Think the spartan 300 episode was truly epic with several episodes being very intriguing pieces on their own.
