I'm going to get skyrim tomorrow and i'm quite new to the elder scroll series. I've had oblivion for ages but never really played it, but when I saw skyrim it looked amazing so I started playing it a few weeks ago and really liked it. So I was just wondering the best character to go, I like using swords and bows and the only magic I really used was restoration. Is there a character like that? thanks

There are no classes. Use what you want.

Exactly. Since you become better at whatever you are using, basically anything works.

Just look at all the special skills on each of the classes, and choose the 1 that is most helpful to you.

There's no premade classes. I'd suggest going sword and shield. Heavy armor. Take blacksmithing. Maybe Restoration if you want to play a Paladin style char.

Try out the game to determine your preferred playstyle. There's no pre-determined classes.

BUT

Might want to get familiar with the different perks and to develop an idea of how you want to allocate your points before you start spending them. This might save you regretting hasty choices and eventually starting over once you know what you actually want.

Do a little research, play around with the game for the first couple levels, then decide how you want to play and you should be more than fine .

Either way though, nothing will go wrong.
