Best human race for Warrior

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:03 pm

I have had them over 300 a piece, but that was with 5/5 armsman, 87 one handed, plus 4 pieces of gear carring one handed enchantments.
They respawn on a ship up by Solitude, forget the name off the top of my head. They respawn every couple days, and are usually good for at least one, sometimes two

If it were possible for me to have a boner, I would have one right now.

Looks like I will be Skyrimming tonight >:}

My Nord warrior does just fine, and I get the "kinsman", "brother Nord" and etc comments. The frost resistance is also nice against draugr and frost dragons.

You can pull off an effective warrior as any race. Just pick one that seems interesting to you and go with it.

Magic resistance can be made up through enchantments and the alteration perks. One shouldn't play a Breton for the magic resistance alone.

Any Alik'r should have curved swords. You can kill some during "In My Time of Need" in Swindler's Den, and the random ones who question Redguard women along the roads.

Also, they have curved swords. Curved. swords.

Have you seen those dremora? They have curved swords. Curved. Swords.
And they're apparently the best race too..

The frost resistance really is nice. Someone said earlier it seems like frost spells are the majority of what gets thrown at you, and with my Reguard, that was a major PITA until I got some enchantments on my armor to protect me from them.

I don't think anyone should feel obligated to play a certain race for a certain class. Play what you want and have fun with it! Racials are nice, but at the end of the day they won't matter too much.

I wanted to make a warrior to plough through enemy lines.
Imperial or Nord

Lore wise, the toughest pure warriors were Redguard, Nord and Orc. Bretons make good battlemages, but they are not known for being pure warriors. However, any race can be as good a warrior as another. The racial differences are not that significant and can easily be overcome. Nords get frost resistance, but frost resistant gear is not hard to come by. Play what you want to play. Personally I cannot stand Imperials because they are so damn smug, I just want to wipe the smile off their face with my battleaxe, but you could certainly make a tough as nails Imperial warrior if you wanted to.

I like Imperials because to me they seem like an all-rounder.

Don't forget they're handy at restoration and destruction as well, so if you ever get bored of ploughing you can easily rely on those with out too much hassle.

Their calm shout is underrated too. If you're ever in deep trouble with multiple enemies surrounding you, it's a lifesaver (though, only works on humans).

I'd just use the one I like the most. Poison resistance in my experience has not really been a noticeable effect in the game. I tend go with characters that have an initial increase in stats in areas that I WILL NOT be using as often in the beginning. For leveling purposes(to get them perks faster) and to balance my character. I always seem to max out illusion with every one though simply because if times right it will almost always save you even on master if you have the right spells. It doesn't make all fights guaranteed but at least makes fleeing possible. I have to say fighting the Elder dragon on master takes quite awhile for me with anything other then a warrior though my death rate is higher with the warrior.

It depends on how you want to play him / her.

A Nord is better with light armor (though I prefer my Nord in heavy) with 2 handed. I use archery for support in long range but not for any close combat (but no racial bonus in archery).

An Imperial is better in enchanted heavy armor using a one handed weapon with a shield to block.
Imperials are also blessed in restoration and destruction magic so are also ideal for a battle-mage.

Redguards are similar to an imperial with one handed and block yet are better off with no armor but using alteration magic instead. Redguards are blessed in archery so a light footed (because of no armor) marksman is another side to them.

Redgaurds are blessed in destruction (but not in restoration like Imperials) so a destruction / alteration mage is an alternate route for a Redguard.

A Breton is blessed conjuration and alteration so a warrior character would wear no armor (alteration magic) and conjure a weapon.

I found the imperial bonus to restoration a big help early on, because restoration always seems to trail behind my other skills. Redguards and their stamina regen ability shouldn't be overlooked though. In a tough boss battle being able to spam power attacks one after the other is pretty nice.

Bretons and their 25% all around magic resistance almost seems cheap to me. I'm playing a nord right now and when a frost dragon breathe on me, I kind of like laugh it off.

My main is a Nord who is passed level 60. I find his only weakness seems to be against magic users such as Forsworn that shoot ice spikes. That is the only time I find myself using health potions. Is this because it is magic?

No the ice spikes are draining your stamina and slowing your speed, I just got off skyrim fighting a spellcasting forsworn briarheart and his merry band of rejects. So you're likely getting hit a lot more (I had to use Fast Healing twice). I don't know if they have Augmented Frost perks or not.

Combine the Nord frost resistance with the elemental resistance shield perk....that makes a Nord pretty much immune to frost attacks. Dunmer can do the same thing with fire attacks.

I can only think of poison resistance really coming into play against chaurus.

Their problem isn't only stats. Imperial warrior can never be described with words "gallant" or "hero" because they have no honor and low morale.
Yeah that's what makes us better warriors :) Unlike nords were not bound by any set of rules or honor (Honor that some nords lack...), were willing to do what ever it takes to win, even fight dirty. War is not for the honorable.

Breton, hands down.

25% base magic resistance.

Get the Lord Stone - another 25%.

Do the blessing of mara quest in Riften, another 15%.

Get shield of Solitude, you are almost immune to magic.

Out of Nord and Imperial, Nord all the way.
Out of all human races, Redguard by a long shot.
