Anyone stumbled upon any hunting hotspots in Skyrim ?

near winterhold is a really good place for elk

Hmm the Ice Fields north of Winterhold are also teeming with Snow Bears and Horkers, a worthwhile trip.

The planes outside of whiterun has Elk, and Sabre Cats. If you want a challange Riften's woods have Trolls, Bears, Spriggins, and I think some Elk.

I think my two favorite are the plains around Whiterun and the woods around Riften.

I agree, the woods around Riften (especially the Southwestern areas) contain a great multitude of wildlife).

It all depends what fauna (think this is the word i'm after) you are interested to hunt in.
Personally i like the ice fields and the surrondings: "ice mammot", trolls, sabers, horkers,
bears, rabbit, abandoned/guarded ice shacks, Star Warsish, cold water, ice, treasures,
skeletons, statues, ecco and so on:)
