Best, most bestest preorder, directly from you guys.

Hello!

This is my first post; in fact, I just registered just about 40 seconds ago. I hope you won't keep that against me.

I just caught news of the fact that your pre-order bonuses had been announced. Along with that, it seemed there were different ones for different retailers ... such as Amazon.

Far be it from me to call retailers greedy punks, because that would be utterly wrong and reprehensible, but I would like to offer up a variation of the Internet meme called "shut up and take my money":

I. Love. You. Guys.

You are Arkane Studios. There is really nothing more that needs to be said.

So, to the point: How can I order the maximum coolness edition from you -- and really, I'm not so much looking for pixel candy as I am trying to hand you my disposable income at the earliest possible opportunity (wanna see my Kickstarter profile? Yes, I'm _that_ guy) -- and not have to endure some retailer (about whom we entered an agreement prior to this moment that they weren't even slightly deserving of the greedy punk moniker) making off with all the profits?

In simple terms: How do I make you shut up and take my money, and I'm prepared to throw quite a bit of it your way, without making Amazon or suchlike ... ahem, suchlike fine quality purveyors of digital goods ... party to wealth which could just has easily have been yours?

I thank you in advance, and apologize if this post offends any large, warrior-like women out there.

Hi and welcome to the forums :)

I guess buying the game directly from Steam gives the most money to the publisher (and the developer). Steam "only" take 30% of the full price, while with normal retail stores they get about 30% of the full price (the rest goes for shipping, the retail store and so on).

If they had a CE already planned, it would have been interesting if they could have done something similar to Ni no Kuni is doing with their CE. The more preorders they receive on their website through their checkout process, the more content will be added to that edition depending on if they reach certain numbers (kind of like Kickstarter as you probably know). It could have given them the freedom to create physical items for early purchasers. Everything else usually becomes available eventually one way or another, whether that be the marketplace on Live, PSN, or Steam---or the inevitable GOTY edition. Then again, it might have painted a new target on Bethesda's backs. I don't know sometimes.

Does Steam do a buyback program for people not using their product keys or whatever for resale? I'm just wondering if the used game market exists in a different form on PC since it's all digital. I know accounts can be sold for other games like Diablo 3 or games of that nature, but that's a whole other ball of wax. That's the only thing that makes me think there might be a used market at all in case you guys might be wondering why I'd ask what appears to be a stupid question.

I suggest waiting for the Steam pre-order or getting the Special Edition that consists of the tarot deck and the Arcane Assassin DLC Pack. There might be a Collector's Edition further on but it is definitely not certain so I suggest you don't get your hopes up, just take it as a possibility.
