Whats the best new stuff to craft for Heavy armor? Is there lootable armor that is better than the crafted Bonemauld armor? Is Daedric armor always going to be the best stuff in the game?
Honestly if your heavy armour goes up past ... I think its 580? Any extra points don't matter because there's a limit on the damage reduction. So although I once had a set of armour that was rated 1700 and something there's not much point! Honestly it doesn't matter which suit you use. Which do you think looks best - or best suits your character? When you relax enough to ask those sorts of questions you'll enjoy the game more.

This. Get a suit you think looks good, or a mixture of pieces, and improve them until your total armor value is past 570-580. You have now capped your damage reduction at 80% of the total incoming damage. Any further improvement of the armor rating past that is pointless as there will be no increase in damage reduction. So you can have maximum protection and look good doing it too!

Personally I dont like Deadric Armour, it looks too evil and out of place for who I am, before traveling to Solstheim, I crafted and Improved my new set of Nordic Armor, as Im a Nord, and I love it.
The armor cap is 667, but with every piece of armor you have on, you get an extra 25 that isn't displayed. So if you have a helmet armour boots and gauntlets on it gives you and extra 100 armor rating that's not displayed. So you only need it to show 567 for it to be maxed.
Yeah, Carved nordic armor is gorgeous. It is my new favorite armor and respec'd from light armor to heavy armor just to wear it. It can also easily reach the 567 armor cap. Also, the weapons are beautiful too. I love the mace.
Except that Daedric weapons aren't the best anymore, Sh00byD00 - Dragonbone are the deadliest. Although with good smithing and enchanting almost any weapon can end up overpowered.
