Best Non-smithed Weapons

Post » Tue May 22, 2012 4:41 am

I know the best weapons are the ones you Smith yourself, with all the fancy enchantments and whatnot, but for some character builds that's just not an option. What I would like to know is where people are finding the awesome loot/drops weaponry in the game?

Find a badass 1H sword of doom? An uber-bow of flaming violence? A fantastic dagger of death-dealing? Where did you find it? I can't be the only person wondering this.

Ebony Sword is a nice 2H Katana, you can activate the quest to find it by talking to the Innkeeper in Whiterun about the Jarl's children.
Wuuthrad is a 2H Axe you can get by completing the Companions questline.
Other then that, most of the other weapons I've recieved are from daedric quests or dungeon crawls.

Edit: Spoiler Tag.

Doing Meridia's daedric shrine quest earns you a REALLY awesome 1-handed sword called Dawnbreaker.

It doesn't have the highest base damage, but it does an additional +10 fire damage. On top of that, when you're fighting undead, there's a chance of causing these massive blue explosions which act as an AoE fear spell.

And if that wasn't impressive enough, the sword is beautiful. The hilt has a hollowed out section with what I can only describe as a tiny star, shining brilliantly.

If you do the Lost Legends quest (you get it from a book you can find in the Dark Brotherhood), you get a pretty cool black blade that absorbs health 5 pts. It's in one of the dungeons being wielded by a pretty powerful dragon shouting dragur thing.

Doesnt it svck that the best looking weapon in this game isn't even close to being the BEST in its category?

Im so gonna change that when the Kit comes out.

Sounds like Dawnbreaker is my next target! Great info.

I found a fantastic Falmer Bow and Flaming dagger (don't have exact names with me, will update once I am home) that I looted in in the Nchuand-Zel Excavation Site in Markarth. I was poking around in the Excavation Site and stumbled across a room with a huge spider web on one of the walls. After slashing at it a few times I made it into a Dwemer ruin, and looted the weapons off the Falmer I killed down there.

Sorry so vague. I actually ended up in that area by accident and it was WAY over my head. I was a very new character at the time, who ended up in Markath due to blacking out after a drinking contest in Whiterun LOL.

Well, I'm only lvl 21. I can't craft anything better, and I certainly haven't found anything better, so for now I'm relishing every glorious minute... especially in the crypts. :D
