Best Online Multiplayer Game (PC)

Back when my friends were still in high school we all got together and played TimeSplitters 2. If anyone hasn't played it, it's awesome, cheesy, and fast paced game with endless really fun game modes (Virus, capture the bad) and challenges. Plus two play split screen campaign was pretty cool too. Oh and those levels whether single player or multiplayer. Sadly none of us have Timesplitters 2 or the original Xbox anymore, we moved onto the 360 for good single player games like Red Dead Redemption and and PC games, because lets face it (Flame shield up) PC &--#62; Consoles. None of us feel the desire to sign up for Xbox Live because the price just doesn't seem worth it to us. Yes I know Wii and PS3 online is free but we all solely got the 360 to begin with because none of our computers at the time could run Oblivion which was originally just a PC and 360 game. We also all have pretty decent computers now.

Back story aside, can anyone recommend the best xbox360 offline/PC online multiplayer games you can think of? Something along the lines of Timesplitters 2 or Jedi Outcast 2. We played Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike:Source/GO for a bit but it just wasn't cutting it after awhile. We don't really enjoy games like Call of Duty, even though I think Battlefield can have it's occasional moments.
We all bought Just Cause 2 when we heard of 6000+ player multiplayer. If anyone hasn't heard of that game, the single player pretty much svcks, but it really shinned in the multiplayer which was basically just as awesome, cheesy, and fast paced as Timesplitters 2. Plus when your in the cities and you use the grappling-hook hang-glider combo it's like you're a mix between Batman and Spiderman, slinging webs and flying around the city, praying on the innocent player below you. Anyway, we quickly found out that the multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 wasn't complete yet and they only let you play online with other people at certain time, which is almost never.

So let me ask the question a final time, can anyone think of the best online PC/offline X360 multiplayer game that's just the most fun you've ever had?

Thank you all so much for the time,

I don't usually like online games, but I did have a lot of fun with Cosmic Break.

Either or. In TS2, JO2, and JC2 the game let you choose if you want teams, freeforall, humans vs bots, etc. Oh and it's not a must, but I haven't seen bots in any games recently. It's something worth noting.

Also, just another detail. We all thought Sub Rosa was pretty good. It's basically minecraft graphics, a mafia theme, and a heavy emphasis on trust. But no one really played it right so we gave up on it.
