Best Stone for a Warrior?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 5:16 pm

IS the Warrior Stone the best sign for a warrior? Seems like a dumb question, but was just wondering if any others on here who had a warrior prefer other stones for their character.

TIA.

Well, when you're starting out, it's the best stone to help you level up the skills you're going to be focusing on much faster.

But as you start to get into the 20s and 30s (assuming you explore), you should have found a few other standing stones that may offer better choices, based on how your character plays.

I don't think there is a single correct answer. If you are making a sole strategy fighter - that is one who wears heavy armor and melee's his way though the game, then Warrior is the way to go. If you are planning a bit more of a hybrid, then another, makes sense because you'll be mostly melee'ing and so a bit of a boost in your supplemental skill set will come in handy.

It's an obvious question

But the answer is no, not really. it depends on what warrior. If you are really going for warrior without playing a bit hybrid, then warrior is a bit obvious, but you can also use Steed to offset heavy armor stamina and movespeed cost, or use the Lover for quick leveling in all areas (if you play hybrid)

Or even Atronach to kill those lazy mages

Lord Stone. Without enchanting, you're going to need sources of magic resistance. The 25% resistance from it is the most helpful of all the stones.

Atronarch's good too. You get a 50% chance of the spell being absorbed. But if it does take effect it will be full power. With Lord, all spells hit but are only at 75% power.

Ooooo. This sounds nice. I am a Breton Warrior and I don't smith or enchant. I use light armor and like to dodge, etc. With this stone I'd have 50% resistance to magic without any magical items.... I think I will switch to the Lord Stone. Plus the extra armor bonus will help a lot since I wear light armor.

I'm a breton with the lord stone. Great stuff. +50 AC and 50% magic resist is nothing to sniff at and I think it provides an excellent way to create a well-rounded defense. A best offense is a good defense, am I right?

Don't forget to get Mara's Agent too. It's 15% but that stuff adds up.

Check out this poll over in the Hints & Spoilers forum about most used standing stones. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1361542-which-standing-stone-do-you-use-the-most/

So far it's neck and neck between the Lord Stone and the Steed Stone.

If you are Breton Warrior and wear light armor, then I don't think that there is a better stone than the Lord.
You don't even need Smith to improve your armor anymore if you ask me, just take perks which will allow you to improve weapon you want.

Early or Smithing -> Warrior Stone
Mid -> Steed (mobility and treasure pack muling)
Late -> Lord or Attronach depending on gear / race. Magic Resistance vs Absorb

Yeah the Lord Stone is pretty nice. Honestly past level 10 I don't think you need the Warrior Stone anymore because the best part of the game IMO is between 10th-30th level. Before then, your character is poorly defined, and after that, your character starts to become awfully powerful. (unless you don't enchant or smith, and even then...)

Lord Stone is very cool, especially on any character (like mine :) ), who is also an Alteration user. With the Alteration mage resistance perks (and the Agent of Mara), you can reach a nice "natural" (aka, with no enchantments) 70% Resist Magic.

Add to that the Atronach perk, and Arinbjorn will have little to fear from spellcasters :)

For straight warriors I prefer Atronach. You're not worried bout magicka regen, and I suppose you could go on for days about the benefits of the magical resistance of both it and the Lord stone, but I prefer the 50% chance of absorbing ALL of spell's damage.
