Beta Update 1.7.7 - Breaking any mods?

Post » Fri Jul 27, 2012 6:12 am

So, there has been a bit of a fiasco in the past patches, but has the same thing happened with the current beta? I have around 60 files in my NMM, and nobody seems to be having any real issues with the 1.7 beta... Although very few people seem to be testing it, which is probably due to a variety of reasons.

So, has 1.7 broken any mods that anyone is aware of?

I did not run into really broken mods when the 1.7 patch came out, but I was really verifying if the Dialogue Bug was fixed. I did not run into any non loading Saves, or a CTD when I did check out the patch with @ 50 mods.
I have not checked if a Save made with 1.7 can be loaded with 1.6 either.

It shouldn't be able to. Saves are forwards compatable, but not backwards.

Only thing related with mods concerning patch 1.7 was reading a http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1398149-the-dialogue-bug-revisited/ saying it seems to solve the problem introduced by patch 1.6 with dialogs.
I'm not testing it myself, so can't help more.

As usual, new patch means new version of SKSE.

It seems to have broken Duel scabbards and shield on back, and has exaggerated a memory leak in Armed to the Teeth, as far as I can tell.

It appears to fix the dialogue issue with esp's, but not esm's. I seriously hope they add esm's to the fix before releasing it or else a lot of giant mods are still sitting still in the water.

On top of that, I assume Dawnguard wouldn't work without an esm dialogue fix, as it's basically a mod. It's coming out soon, as all of the Valve run TF2 servers are now playing the TV spot for it. So it's near, I assume right with or after the 1.7 patch.

Pete Hines and GStaff seem to state otherwise unfortunately: https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/228527108681502720

That's very bad news.
