Beth, can you PLEASE make more things Ballistic Weavable?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 9:30 pm

The current list makes no sense. Tattered Rags can be made better than the Minuteman General outfit for goodness sake!

If you are on PC you only have to wait till sometime next month for the creation engine. Even if you aren't it shouldn't be too long after before it will be available for a mod on console.

I like how lab coats are weaveable but vault tec lab coats are not, because reasons and such.

I just want to weave my vaultsuit.
I am doing a playthrough with just the vaultsuit, and 10mm.
BW would help...a lot.

I should be able to bw my characters underwear, then I can finally reasonably roleplay as Captain Underpants.

Everything should be BW-able imo.

Tattered Rags can. White Tee and Jeans can't.

Newboy Cap can. Baseball Cap can't.

Trilby Hat can. Army Helmet can't.

Wtf. lol

If you're on PC there's no need to even wait. There are already a number of mods out there that make essentially everything weavable. I use Armorsmith Extended, which is a really big mod, but there are several simpler mods that just add ballistic weave too.

Yeah, but... not the point of O.P.'s thread. The point is that the current way of doing things is rather arbitrary. The suit we get from the Trinity Tower quest can have weave applied, but not the Silver Shroud outfit. A Battered Fedora can have it, but not any other fedora. (I haven't checked if the Grognak costume can have weave applied... I always let Cait wear that one.)

My personal goal is to have the Drifter Outfit upgraded. The Courser outfit is almost as cool, but it lacks that beaten-up credibility that the drifter outfit has.

Or Road Leathers. So I look like an extra in The Road Warrior.

For the record, I'm a console jockey, so I'd rather not wait for a mod. I'd rather it were an update which allowed all clothes to be given ballistic weave. I don't see how it could upset the game balance (since, who are we playing it against? ourselves??).

It does seem rather arbitrary as to what can and can't be weaved, especially if you want to do an outfit, for example run around as a postman, postman suit can, postman hat can't, same for baseball outfit, clothes yes, cap no. Also why can a battered fedora be weaved but not a worn or yellow, etc? It's just plain weird.

I'm 99% sure it is. I'm sure I weaved it and gave it to a settler to make him look badass.

Does anyone know if I can still kill Maxson even if I finished the game with the Minutemen? Meaning I didn't destroy the Prydwen

I think we should be able to put the Weave on every outfit that you can't wear armour on top of. That makes sense to me.

And you can indeed put it on Maxson's Battlecoat. My character is rocking it as we speak.

I really want to be able to use ballistic weave on the vault suit, BOS Uniforms and the tattered field outfit.

I agree! The way things are now, it essentially forces me to wear something that doesn't look so great when armor is piled on top of it, otherwise I won't have as good defense (even with maxing out that defense perk). Heck, why aren't any BoS clothing Ballistic Weaveable? They are a militaristic group that focuses on the best, most useful tech, so...wouldn't that make the most sense? Would love to have the Brotherhood uniform/fatigues (whatever the clothing item is called, which you can pick up at Cambridge Police Station...) modifiable.

I would agree with this. Luckily my favorite outfit, the Atom Cat, is on the list. But I would like to be able to upgrade Vault Suits and Kellog's armor.

Oh, and while we are at it, more Vault Suits with different number please.

Yeah, I'm with you OP. I have my character wearing the flannel shirt with jeans and a low tier leather chest piece. It really fits the Lone Wanderer look very well. Unfortunately my protection is sitting somewhere just below 25. This isn't a stealth character, so that look won't be able to last long.

But the unique Zeke's Atom Cat outfit ISN'T upgradeable. It really is arbitrary what is and isn't upgradeable and that's the major problem.

And stuff like Maxson's Coat being upgradeable, but not, say, the General's outfit.

I don't mind if the Vault Suit stays non-ballistic weave-able -- because it has its own upgrades -- but I think flat out just most clothing items should be. And definitely MORE HATS PLEASE. Especially the tricorn, minutemen's hats, and lieutenant's hat.

I gotta wonder what their motivation was for not making Vaultsuit BW. Like, the most iconic clothing in all of the Fallout games across the years. Let's make sure nobody wears it.

But with the DLC's and patches dropping over the coming months, its a bit gamble using unsupported mods right now.
