Bethesda, Are you Serious?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 8:25 am

You know, not only did I preorder this game, but I went to the Midnight Release. Now tell me, is it fair for someone to get a game technically before it even rightfully launches and not be able to play it for more than 1 day. Apparently Bethesda thinks it's fair. Bethesda thinks it's fair to make the copy of the game for one system unplayable (ps3) then attempt a hand at a patch that won't be released for another week. Now us ps3 users have to wait an entire week to play "Skyrim" while xbox 360 users are enjoying their copy. Does this sound like a company that deserves to have one of their games rendered as Game of the Year. Answer: Hell no. And I just simply made this post to ask: Why Besthesda? Why make such good copies for BOTH pc and xbox, but have such game breaking issues on the ps3. and then to top it off, make a patch for these problems to release so late. Accident, doubtful. Done purposely, maybe. Could I sue for not being able to play a game that I paid 60 bucks for when I want to, more than likely no, but I am actually looking into that right now. Either way, i would just prefer an answer from a Besthesda Executive or something. Cause right now and until this is either settled in court or some other manner in which this game becomes playable for my ps3, I am quite pissed.

Sidenote: I honestly never imagined a gaming company to screw people over like all those other big industry companies. I guess I have seen that even gamers/geeks or whatever you want to call them can as well be [censored]s too. lol.

This is a big deal though. Think about it. Anyone who doesn't have their PS3 hooked up to the internet is completely screwed, permanently.

These companies don't care about their customers, that's obvious and need not be repeated more than once. All they care about is their wallets, so to get them to care, we must empty their wallets through legal action. (or at least try).

The company might not think greatly about costumers..
But the individuals of bethesda all do feel our pain.
They worked for years on skyrim and put their souls into it and have a bond with skyrim that is unimaginable by other people.
It hurts them personally to see all of us having so much problems, that i am sure of.

I am sure it was the talk of the day at bethesda when these problems found these forums, maybe a snicker and a "must have had a faulty ps3" comment first.
Then realisation kicked in chuck norris style.

I am sure they are doing their best to try and fix these issues and give us the game they wanted us to play and we as costumer deserve to play.

That said, sometimes the bug is bigger than the brain and in reality is so hard to fix it might take weeks or months to find the actual issue.
Worst case scenario we get a patch to cover up a gaping infected open chestwound.
I bet the new patch wont solve much problems, it might be at the start but give it another few days and the same (or new) problems will arise.

My love for both bethesda and skyrim make me hope with all my heart that the patch do fix this issue.
I do hope that beth understands that most of the hatred and angry flames towards them is because we care so deeply about this game.
Its like finding the woman (or man) of your dreams, everything is perfect for a few days and then you find out she is as fun to hang out with as the garbagecan of your nabur named bob who throws questionable content in his garbage can.
Figuratively speaking: beth, good luck and do your best... Dont turn skyrim in bob his garbage can.. but that significant other you cant live without anymore.

(Sorry for all this nonsense, im in book-writing mode)

Completely unacceptable on Bethesda's part for releasing a game that clearly was not ready to enter the public's hand as the numerous glitches and extreme lag make it almost unplayable. Whats more frustrating is that it seems only PlayStation users are the ones too have these game braking lag issues. I mean it's plain outrageous, we pay good money only to be left grinding our teeth as the game begins it's slow descent into a laggy mess. I'm sure they were aware of these issues but opted for "release now, fix later" mentality to coincide with the swank 11/11/11 release date. Very disappointing.

I really feel bad for those people with PS3's and no internet connection.

I know 3 of them, 2 friends and my dad. all have PS3's but no internet as they don't own computers.
These people are the ones who'll suffer the most from the 'sell now, patch later' attitude that some companies seem to have these days.

Its not fair!

This is my first Elder Scrolls game, and of course I am disappointed because of the various issues. Still, I absolutely can't understand why people always have to start talking about lawsuits and stuff. I mean, I understand that you're angry and disappointed...but do you really think Bethesda did this on purpose? It's THEIR game, they spent years on developing it, and you think they don't want it to run perfectly? Of course they do, but some issues just can't be resolved within a few hours or days! In a game as massive as this, there are so many different possible causes for a problem, you can't expect the developers to just find and solve the cause of the issue within a week.
Now you could say they should have delayed the release until the problem's solved, but since not everyone is experiencing the problem, it's possible that it never surfaced during testing and maybe Bethesda only became aware of it after the game's release. I know people say previous Bethesda games had similar issues, but are we certain that they're caused by the same thing?

It's almost 2012.. Having the Internet has nothing to do with having a computer these days. Honestly, online connectivity and patch distribution is a part of the industry now, your dad and friends should get with the times..

Bethesda is just crawled up the 360, what can you say? I love the TES games because there is nothing else like it, but I can't afford a gaming PC and not buying a new 360 every few months due to the tech problems it has, I'm not buying another Beth game on release.
