Interesting article and quotes from Pete Hines. I gotta agree with him. He's the best PR guy in this industry.

You missed a key word in your thread title. "Yet".

"So far the Wii hasn't fitted into that. Whether Wii U does down the road is TBD."

So they're open to the possibility. They're just not sure if it will work out.

Seems like its for the best, Nintendo is being Nintendo over in the corner. If it works it works, if not no big loss.

Edit
Personally I'm getting sick of this gimmicky BS with consoles. My PS3/Wii are going to be the last consoles I ever own, and I'll likely end up throwing them out or selling them. Played the few good games, but by large all of it is a generic crap being funneled out of a sludge factory. I only bought the Wii for Monster Hunter Tri, which I don't regret since it's so replayable. The only thing My PS3 does now is play blu rays, and even my PC can do that better. I'm quickly running out of reasons to have one. Not to mention all the DRM on it, the [censored] online passes, the over priced [censored] DLC, the advertisemants everywhere, and so much other crap. The few, few games that are good just aren't worth the price of the bloated thing which I could have got good PC parts with.

Edit
I can even play games with a controller on the PC if I want to. Is there ANY reason to use the console at all? Not to mention how often the damn thing freezes, how slow it is, how ugly everything looks. Just about everything about it makes me loath it as being inferior. It's gotten to the point where you can buy and play PC games more easy and conveniently than on a console. Their one big selling point doesn't exist anymore.

"I don’t think the current generation of consoles are holding us back," he said.

Stopped caring about his opinion right there.

Bethesda should take another step and stop developing games for consoles all together! Sure they may lose some money, and it'll be bad for business... But, optimized PC games by Bethesda! And the possibilities would be endless!

It can work if there is user made content support, import, share, rate. I think that would be cool.
