Bethesda please let me kill the minutemen!

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 3:24 pm

I love fallout 4 I bought an xbox one as soon as I heard this game was bringing released and I have had the best possible experience with it. I don't agree worn most people that the story was lacking and that the choices weren't there I actually believed that there are more choices in this game that you can do in the story then fallout 3 and New Vegas but there is one thing that I really would love to have seen done with the game and that is the ability to kill the minutemen. It's interesting that the minutemen can kill the brotherhood but if your a brotherhood character you can't take out the minutemen. Please fix this. And for everyone else how did you all feel when you encountered this.

The Minutemen are more like a movement or an idea than they are a faction. Taking out an idea isn't exactly easy. Now sure, you could take out their leader ...

So, kill yourself?

Doesn't seem very pragmatic imo.

It's sad to see people resort to murder just because they don't like someone.

It's a video game. Provided people have a functional ability to distinguish between fiction and reality, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Raiders FTW!!

That's not the problem, it's just the fact that the mentality for issues is "just kill em".

If you didn't want the Minutemen, then you shouldn't of agreed to help them. It's your faction.

No crucifixions then?

This isn't the game I signed up for!

BURN 'EM ALLLLLLL!!! :flamethrower:

Seriously though, it's a video game. Murder is cathartic here, and legal. :D

Only Preston Garvey is enough for me. I got a boner when I killed that twin of him, and that's how I found out I have a fetish for killing Preston Garveys.

Don't get me wrong, I've played an evil character and loved killing random civilians because it was funny, it's just the fact that YOU create the Minutemen, why would you want to destroy them?

Super evil? The satisfaction of being master of all you survey? Betraying Preston is immensely satisfying?

Any number of reasons.

The idea that you can build them up or tear them down at will.

A god complex?

You sort of can:

Spoiler

1. Don't help Garvey in the beginning. Dooming The Minutemen forever.

or

2. If you did help Garvey, dismantle any artillery pieces, shut off Radio Freedom, toss your flare gun into the sea, and ransack The Castle. Eventually, the MM will fall apart and disperse pretty quickly.

So why did you save and restore them in the first place? You could have just walked past Garvey when he asked you for help (or even walk past Cordon). Then they are just one dude hiding in a museum, thus a dead faction.

Why would you assume that it's about not wanting to have to deal with the Minutemen?

Maybe the OP very deliberately wants to KILL them! And I can hardly blame them for it.

You can kill the other 3 factions, but not the Minutemen. The OP raises a fair point.

I avoided concord my last game like the plague. On a fly over to finish scrapping Sanctuary for parts at level 55 that moron is still on the balcony shooting it out with raiders, lol.

Don't rebuild the faction. It doesn't make sense to rebuild a faction just to kill everyone( and if you could people will complain because now they access to something)

Not really because it's not a faction until you rebuild it. It's just a Preston and few settlers.

RR scum. How dare you speak that way about your overlords!?

Anyway, If you want to "kill" the MM--just don't join them. In fact, leave Preston and his lovable crew to rot in raider hell for all time. That's what I did/do now and it works just fine. :)

You could always....you know....not even go to Lexington. Or just do their quest for the power armor, leave them in a trashed sanctuary hills and never see or hear from them again.
