Bethesda should try and buy the rights to Ravenloft

Post » Sun Jun 24, 2012 3:43 pm

A fantasy horror game with Elder Scrolls game play would be awesome it looks like Dawnguard will be a little close to this. It would be even more awesome if they bought the rights to the 1890s Ravenloft setting and made the whole game based around that era!

They did some Terminator license titles years ago. They weren't bad either. :)

A T-800 version of Dora would be awesome though. :D

Geez, everyone seems to think Bethesda is made of money that they should go around buying this and that. They have two successful series. Two successful, expensive to produce series. I think they should stick to what they already do well. Try to do too much and other things could suffer.

LORD SOTH FOR THE WIN!!!
Wasn't he from Dragonlance?

What is with all these "Bethesda should make" ideas?
At least they used to be somewhat interesting or amusing, even the Pirate or Zombie games were more intellectually stimulating.
Most franchises of books/oldgames I would honestly prefer pre-EA (at worst post-EA) Bioware to do it, they are better at making something feel epic and huge, sometimes not showing something is more epic than showing it.

That said I don't have an opinion either way on Ravenloft, but someone should make an open-world/semiopen-world Dragonlance game and Bethesda or Bioware should remake those Krondor games.

i think they should use the money that would cost, and put it into hiring more writers, artists and programmers. that way they can innovate TES in more ways that are not simply improving graphics engines.

Why should Bethesda do anything that someone who is not affiliated with Bethesda in any official or unoffical manner suggest? Because the only logic here, seems to be:

1. Here's something cool that isn't Bethesda related.
2. Bethesda have made something I think is cool.
3. Bethesda should make that thing I think is cool.

And let's be entirely realistic, do you really think Todd Howard and his team, and the owners and whatnot, are scouring these forums for good business ventures that could turn profitable? Do you think they are going to contact you and applaud you and your keen sense of business, and proceed to negotiate a deal to make sure you get the game that you want?

Well to be fair, it is very likely that the employes will check the modding and fanfiction sections for potential members to the team at times... that being said, the likelihood of them taking suggestions from random forumers is, as you suggested, very low.

The fact of the matter however is that posting in this thread is probably a waste of time, considering that the message has probably been put across to the OP, and someone will likely just make another one of these in the future regardless... as we have seen happen many times. Therefore, the topic of this thread must be shifted toward...

...Chocolate Milk.

THIS! A d&d game by Bethesda would be amazing. Skyrim definitely has that feeling especially with dawnguard coming out, but I'd have freakin kittens if I got to fight or play as loren or strahd!
