A Bethesda Steampunk/Clockwork game?

Post » Mon Oct 17, 2011 3:14 pm

I really think Bethesda needs to make a steampunk/clockwork genre game. I researched these a little while ago and the only one I found that was on current-gen consoles was some thing called Damnation, and that one svcked. IMO Bethesda could really work wonders with a game like this. They know how to craft many different environments (Fallout 3 compared to every TES game, for example) and are very good at voice acting, immersion, balancing, and adding an overall fun factor to the game.

So, do you want a Bethesda-made steampunk/clockwork game?

In all honesty I doubt they could pull anything Steampunk, Cyberpunk, Retropunk, or anything of that sort.

The only game company I would expect to do Cyberpunk or steampunk correctly is a Japanese game company.

Since they are the masters of it.

There's too much Steam in Bethesda's games as it is <_<

Also, I wouldn't care for one by them.

Hah.

Personally, I wouldn't want it just because it would take away development time from the two IP's they're already juggling.

I'm not really sure how good of a game they'd make if they did do it, but I can't really think of any other company that could pull it off either. Maybe Irrational Games.

Irrational could EASILY do a steampunk game, Bioshock Infinite is one and looks amazing.

Cyberpunk is hardly ever done besides Deus Ex HR I cant think of a recent one.

I don't think it would work with Bethesda's "template". Their games involve a large amount of open space to explore, not big cities like you might expect from a steampunk game.

to true

If they did make a Steampunk/Clockwork game I would give it equal consideration as with any of their games, but I don't really see them creating a "New" franchise
