Bethesda talking about fallout 4 , are they joking ?

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 8:46 pm

Who the heck will buy them again broken games ? what new excuses will they use ?
the media did their job and the word got out about skyrim damaged, opinions aside about the problems this game faces but who will really buy more games from them ? I for one will now wait months after the game has been launched even if they completly ficxed skyrim and give free DLC.

Why wouldn't they talk about fo4? They are going to make more games, and people are still going to buy them. I won't...

They got our money, now they gotta move on to other ripoff, er I mean projects.

Consumers are stupid, myself included, as we bought their [censored] Kool Aid and drank it. Even after experiences like fo3 and FONV.

They got your money, now its 'kthxbai, w3 right 1337 haxx0rz r0ck3n teh ps3'

Now they also have proof of there prowess, goty and dev of the year..

I laugh to keep from crying... Well not really but Ffs they just don't care

Well, its most likely in the works. However by the time of its release the PS4 will most likely be out, and we will be playing it on there. I think Sony is changing the OS, so maybe it will be better. Maybe.

 No it doesn't.

It upscales it to 1080p, it doesn't run at 1080p.

Well, if people were smart they would research these products. If they spend their money on another broken game.. it's their dumb loss.

Agreed. The next Bethesda game will most likely have the same problems as before and people will continue to buy them. Then, they will realize the game breaks 30-40 hours in and the cycle will continue. People never learn...

Hello. My name is Mild Contempt.... and I am a Bethesda addict.

I've been along for the ride since Morrowind and... well, I've been chasing that first sweet taste ever since. I tell myself everytime I buy from them that it's the last... but then... just when I think I'm out... they pull me back in. I have only myself to blame, but man was that first trip a heckuva ride.

As far as the OP's topic... Why not start Fallout 4? They already have a "new" engine in place, a brilliant new radiant questing formula....

I'd buy it but not for the ps3.

Their ps3 track record is not something to be proud of in my opinion.

Actually in this case yes. Bethesda has a track record of selling games with these same types of issues, and yet people lined up by the millions to buy this one on release day. If this were the very first game Bethesda had ever released with issues it'd be a different story, but you know the old saying about fooling someone twice...

And that's not to say Bethesda shouldn't have done a better job pre-release, but I do place some of the blame here on over-eager consumers.

I love how people act like just because Bethesda didn't fix the game day 1 they have someone been in some giant conspiracy to screw people over since time began.

I would LOVE to see how long it would take YOU working at Betesda to fix those bugs.

The main issue being the slowdown experienced when save files get too large has been happening since FO3 on the PS3. They know that the problem is inherent to that platform and have known about it for years now. Obsidian fixed it in FO:NV but it required a new game to be started for it to work properly. Why Bethesda didn't think to check and see if they'd have the same issues with Skyrim and resolve them prior to release is what is so aggravating. The other random bugs are gonna happen with a game of this size but something that actually makes the game unplayable after a certain point and has been a known problem with the PS3 is a BIG screw up.

dar'istrali you are so on the money.
i feel so stupid. stupid! stupid! stupid!
i did it. i drank the coolaid! i cannot tell a lie, i pre-ordered it. how can i be so boneheaded?!
i know their track record and it speaks for itself. why did i think skyrim would be any different?
i'm not sure who i am more mad at. myself or bethesda. if we continue to buy their games, they will continue to gives us a sub-par product.

Well, its not my fault they advertised this game having a new engine and none of the same old problems fallout had. They just lied. But you cant debate this on these forums, This is just gonna get locked.

It's just svcks. Bethesda games are like the ferrari's of gaming. The problem is they don't run like them. The price of game is probably the 5% of what a radio dial is in a Ferrari but these days 60 bucks is not chump change anymore. A few years back I wouldn't of cared but now buying a game is a treat and it svcks when the treat you buy is chop liver.

When you look at it it makes perfect sense. Most gaming news sites have done with their "Skyrim is broken" articles and are talking it up for GOTY, patch 1.4 is due to land later in the month and will likely cause at least a few sites to look at Skyrim again to see if it's fixed, the broken game articles were a good hit-count driver that undoubtedly made quite a bit of advertising revenue, makes sense to do a revisit after the patch that has been promised to address the issues. But if Bethesda throw out some details on Fallout 4 and wait all of 12 seconds those same websites will all contact Bethesda for further comment and none will print a bad word about Skyrim or Bethesda again in case it means they can't get an interview or preview for Fallout, it's an old trick but one that is terribly effective.
