Bethesda...The City of Markarth > Book Shelf Issues

Post » Fri May 18, 2012 4:05 am

So you forgot that the entire city of Markarth is broken upon completing the Forsworn Conspiracy? Making it impossible to progress the game if any quests take place there? I had never run into a game breaking glitch until this one...But I guess making sure books stack straight on shelves is more important...

It was not broken for me. They are addressing quest issues with a full title patch in January.

Oh, ok, I'll just you know...either start a whole new character from scratch or just not...play...until...some undefined time in January....That's totally acceptable.
I put 200 hours into my current character, it svcks that it was kind of wasted....

That's what you get for living in Markarth- Blood, Silver and [censored]s. That place can svck it. I only go there to kill.

I know hw you feel my character needs to do purity for Farkas, it glitched nd wont let me, so I must hold off the imperial questline becuase doing it locks Jorvaskarrs doors. Yay.

Blood on the ice is still buggy as hell, all in all waiting till January is aweful, the game has lots of bugs nd the first patch made more, the only other patch fixed what the other broke... Thats 0 progress since release. With a game with as mny bugs and bugs that can be severe. Thats not acceptable.

I am sure they are working hard on fixing all the broken quests, including, Markarth. However, they have all ready stated that quest fixes will not be ready until January. Plus I am sure it is much easier for them to fix the bookshelf issues quickly and promptly, without causing further damage to the game. Do you really want them to rush and just make it worse. I do agree that there should have been more testing and quality control done before release, but at this point constantly snarling about whats broken is not helping anyone. Just be happy they care enough to have released a 1.3 patch so quickly.

Are you talking about the bug where the guards get stuck in a loop with trying to arrest you, which results in you having to kill them every time you go there? I had this problem for a couple days until I saw a post somewhere that said how to fix it. You have to go to the temple of talos, and there is a sequence of dialogue options you can choose with those npcs down there that allows you to pay off your fine. I can't remember exactly why, I think it's cause they're the NPCs that arrest you in the quest maybe? Regardless, they have slightly different dialogue options than all the guards outside. I saved game right before walking down the ramp towards them, and it took me 3 tries to get the "pay off my fine" option to show up. 33,000 was worth it to have the city working properly again :P
