Bethesda... What are you doing?

Post » Fri Aug 02, 2013 6:29 pm

There is absolutely no reason why I should have to make this thread on 07/31/13. Why have you guys, Bethesda, not said anything about the problems that plague this game on the PS3? This is the most ridiculous situation I have ever seen, I just read through many many many many OLD 2012 post and you guys still have said nothing?

What kind of company honestly just says absolutely nothing after this long?

If it cost too much money to do the patch, since they do cost money, let the players know so we can have some closure. Why the heck are you guys not saying anything? I mean honestly you guys have some nerve taking peoples money and then not saying anything.

This is 100% why I am returning Doom 3 BFG, Skyrim, and fallout. I went on a "bethesda spree" bought em all today, before I open my games I like to make sure companies aren't doing what you guys are doing here. As soon as I googled doom 3 bfg and ps3 I saw a MOUNTAIN of post from the release until now, and you guys had the nerve to not even tell these people anything.

I will never support a company like that, I don't care what game you put out, how good elder scrolls online is, how amazing the next offline elder scrolls is, whatever you do with fallout 4, I will not stand for this kind of treatment to people who put you where you are today.

You would NOT be making a ESO or fallout 4 or any new game without paying customers and you treat them 100% like trash.

Bethesda should be 100% ashamed for hiding like a bunch of cowards instead of letting the players know what's going on. If I was the manager/supervisor/whatever I would fire the entire community team, and the devs that obviously thought the game was good enough to release in such a form.

You guys are part of the reason you can't trust any company today, you honestly are 100% part of that "don't care we got your money" attitude every big corporation seems to have today and it's sad.

100% sad that I can't pay you money and get a working product, you all should be forced into classes that enhance your people skills. I cannot believe the PS4 is almost out, and you guys have said nothing about all the problems that plague doom 3 BFG, you have to be completely and utterly kidding me. So glad I checked this before I opened any of the games I bought.

Boycotting ALL Bethesda products until they get their head out of..well you know the rest.

Mod is going to take this thread straight to the trash can. I feel for you, but what are you expecting with this thread?

Bethesda Game Studios does not make DOOM. Bethesda Softworks is only the game's publisher.

IdSoftware makes DOOM.

Yes but both fronts are 100% silent on the topic, they slapped their name on the project they should be willing to stand behind it.

I don't really care tbh, they don't seem to care, this is 100% the truth if they feel a need to remove the truth that's fine. I don't see why they would need to remove it.

As for expectations:

I am expecting a company that makes millions of dollars off their customers to stop treating them like garbage. This is 100% ridiculous, even Defiance launched horribly they stayed in contact, updated, game's still crap IMHO but they let people know what's going on.

If they can show us a trailer for ESO, they can fix past games that people already paid money for.

If this is the treatment you get after buying this, why would anyone in their right mind run to buy ESO? or anything by them?

That's the problem though, people allow this, keep buying the new games, and don't make these topics, theres a very few minority of people on these forums demanding the respect they deserve.

That is 100% why ESO will launch buggy and they will patch it slowly after they have your money. I am so sick of that, being treated like trash but these rich execs driving around in nice cars WE as paying customers put them in.

What would they say? What good would it do to publicly acknowledge the game's problems?

I personally always have faith behind anything I do. There is absolutely no way if I became a game creator that I would let something like this happen. Sure stuff happens, but I would gladly work hard to fix these problems and if they couldn't be fixed I would offer incentives. So far, Bethesda AND Id has ignored the PS3 community.

Sure acknowledging the game is broken might not be "in their best interest" but it shows they care. Saying nothing, going on business as usual is why I will boycott all of their products until they stand behind them.

What they could say is:

1. Aknowledge the problem like a real company

2. State if they can fix said problems, and give reasoning IF they can't

3. Fix the problems....or don't fix the problems.

4. Regain the faith and trust of all the people left in limbo right now

You don't just have people sitting here for like a year, and say absolutely nothing. This isn't some rookie company. If they can have a mod take down my post (if they feel the need to take it down), they can let the people that gave them the money to go on to make the games they are making this year, know what the deal is.

I am not trying to be an ass to you when I say this, but why do I even have to explain this? It seems like it should be covered in the basic same common courtesy all companies strive to achieve. Should I remain silent for another year wondering if a company ever will do something about buggy software? I don't think it's asking too much just to get a simple "we aren't releasing a patch due to " so I can then decide if I want to deal with the software as is.

I mean am I in an alternate dimension or what is going on that this isn't what EVERYONE wants?

I honestly feel terrible for anyone that bought this at launch and never got a reply, a refund, or even an apology.

With all due respect, you are one person, not a multi-million dollar company. The logistics of customer service change greatly at the corporate scale.

1. Everyone knows it, there is nothing to acknowledge. It has nothing to do with their best interest. Its just flat out a waste of time.

2. Obviously they can, but won't because of money. There is no funds to support such a project, and no money to be made from it. That is how ANY business would handle the situation. Business don't survive by supporting antiquated products.

3. They won't, because #2. No money, no people, no time, and would only cost them money no matter how you look at it.

4. Are those (undoubtedly few) people really matter to them? At the end of the day, they are running a business, and yes, customer support is important, but there has to be a reasonable cut-off. It is just unreasonable to expect a company to support a product forever.

And again, Bethesda Softworks did NOT develop the game. They have no obligation what so ever to support the game any further then they already are.

I gotta step in here, sign up process wasn't too long.

1. How exactly do you know what Bethesda can and can't do, in terms of finance and manpower?

2. How was the game supported when it has game breaking bugs?

3. If patching is so expensive and takes so much man power why was the pc version patched?

Customer service doesn't change with this company because obviously they don't care and it doesn't exist...people like you that just keep forking over money are why we are at this stage.

You are effectively telling Moogle "oh well" when you should see this as some sort of wake up call. This company does not care about ALL of its customers. The entire PS3 side of this game is not a small number, maybe not everyone speaks up but they are all dealing with it. Who are you to come and say they don't matter? You trying to continue to get that post count up or what?

Everyone knowing there are issues but no one doing anything from Bethesda's side or Id's side is supposed to be ok? I dunno what realm you reside in, but if I put my name on something and it was crap I'd either: 1. Get it fixed or 2. Take my name off it

I have read this forum for years never had to post but this type of fan crap where it doesn't matter what Bethesda is doing, it's 100% ok gets under my damn nerves.

The whole era of release and patch it later is ok thanks to people like you making up excuses for the company. You are DAMN RIGHT this company is obligated to support a broken product they released and never patched.

What kind of clown would just sit and accept that?

They should have contacted Id MONTHS ago to release a patch especially if they did it for pc, or they shouldn't have released it on consoles to begin with, and let's be real xbox version is a mess too.

If PC players are the only ones that matter then don't put your software on consoles.

Okay, you bought the games, then did a search for problems.

You have no idea whether or not you are having problems, since you haven't opened the games. Not all users are having problems, or having the same problems, even on consoles.

Apparently not all the paying customers think they are being treated like trash.

Hopefully you will be able to find games that you will enjoy.
