You realize that the Oblivion GOTY edition for the PS3 is still broken, right?

Going purely off past history, Bethesda will not fix this game for the PS3. I hate being a Negative Nancy, but they have a history of not fixing serious problems in their PS3 versions of games.

Plug your ps3 to the internet source you're using now

When one console fails, they wont fix it, but if all are failing then they should. In any circumstance if bethesda does not pay us the same level of attention as the others, then we should just sue their asses. something!!

That they haven't specifically mentioned this problem on the PS3, yet have acknowledged the 360's texture problems, show me where their priorities for this patch lie. They'll, as with the first patch, likely fix a few minor issues affecting all platforms and will probably do something about the 360's texture streaming issue, as well, but they've shown no indication of realization of this specific problem, the slowdown/stuttering problem with he PS3 version, and thus I doubt they'll fix it. It's Fallout 3 all over again... but Fallout 3's issues weren't this severe mere days after its release. It took the DLC for the same problem to occur...

check pete hines twitter. they wont say what the patch will fix until it's done. It may be simply put impossible to fix the game through a patch, maybe not. We'll just have to wait

I thought the PS3 GOTY Edition of Oblivion was a terrible mess, but it pales in comparison to what Skyrim's problems are. This isn't just a single quest that is broken, this frame-rate problem can potentially make the entire game unplayable! I love this game, but Bethesda's repeated history of leaving the PS3 versions broken really gets on my nerves.

That vampire glitch Oblivion had is nothing compared to the travesty that was Fallout 3's PS3 GOTY edition. Oblivion is Bethesda's most stable game for the PS3... and they, strangely, weren't even the ones to port it over to the PS3...

What was wrong with the Fallout 3 GOTY Edition? (I've never played Fallout 3)

The sad truth? It was a similar problem currently plaguing Skyrim. Saved data files bloated in size and after a certain point, the game's performance took a nosedive. That... and that, with the DLC, Bethesda didn't seem to give a damn about bug-testing at all.

Just look in Bethesda Softworks Forums> The Elder Scrolls> V - Skyrim> Skyrim Hardware and Software Issues Subforums> PlayStation 3> Update 1.1 for Skyrim, and you'll see they are working on a patch, so don't fear PS3 owners.

Thank the Gods! I hope they get this out soon. I can't continue with what I want to do because I'm stuck before the Purity Of Revenge quest for the Companions :(

I fear said patch, if it truly assists with the slowdown issue, may require a new character.

Seriously? That "update" which is barely two sentences long is nothing more than an attempt to placate costumers on the part of Bethesda after getting mocked on its VP of marketing twitter account. That update was posted at 4:02 PM yesterday, my post screencapping the back and forth with Peter Hines was posted at 3:32PM here: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1267215-any-formal-announcement-from-bethedsa-regarding-glitches/page__p__19231454#entry19231454. I highly doubt they give a crap.

Don't believe me? Here was more of my convo with Pete... After I told him there was no info to be had or reassurances that the issues would be addressed he told me that it had been and linked me to the [censored] PC section. THE PC SECTION. That's how out of touch they are with PS3 users. So basically even telling someone at Bethesda directly that the PS3 version has issues gets the response that "We are working on fixing the PC version". They mind as well have said go eat [censored] and die.

I've played about 12-15 hours of the game and had some lag and ONE crash. Not that bad but it's gonna get worse

Yet, the Greatest Hits version is fine.. And the only thing broken in GOTY is the vampire cure glitch. Hardly worth crying over.
