They're looking into it, not fixing it. At the moment anyway. We all need to wait until the game goes worldwide, then the big marketing will be done and Bethesda will be more likely to announce and work on huge faults like these. It seems like everyone has a different way to fix the problem so my suggestion is to do this: IGNORE WHAT EVERYONE ELSE TELLS YOU TO DO, and troubleshoot yourself.

I personally am going to:
1- put game in, clear cache and play. If I notice no problems, or problems, I'll quit to dashboard and install it on my HDD.
2- If there is no problem now, whether there was or not when it wasn't installed then I'll be good to go
3- If the textures look bad on both disk and HDD I'll uninstall and put it on my 3.81g EMPTY flashdrive.
4- Problems STILL persist, I'm totally [censored] and I'll have to take note of which looked the best and wait for a patch.

Good luck everyone. Hopefully this will get straightened out before I get my copy, hopefully on Saturday.

Since GStaff says it doesn't matter whether you install to the HDD or not, I'm going to try the work around reported to work by those who say it doesn't matter where you install. Notice your textures going low-res? Reload your last save.

Damn, you Xbox guys got screwed over bad. Those use using older PS3's arent happy either due to lag, but I've got a 160GB one and I've had no problems. I hear PC has big problems aswell. Bethesda really has to sort all of this out on the consoles and the PC.

If you jsut play from the disk, you got:

1, the game perfectly how it should work
2, no lag
3, amazing graphics, even in and after the use of te menu.
4, no screen tearing
5, amazing textures
6, a bit of a loud xbox dvd drive.. but if you turn the volume higer, or if you are using a headphones you wont hear it.. (i play on a Xbox Elite)

I posted this in another thread but thought worth posting here also:

Playing on Xbox Slim 260 gig. Direct from disc (been playing for 4 hours and not installed) No loading issues and no texture issues. Not sure how useful that is but thought it worth adding

Because my Xbox is a bit shady when it comes to discs, and I don't want to damage my disc I keep it installed and still enjoy the [censored] out of it with these Morrowind quality textures.

lol i play on the slim and my games never freeze or lag or have texture bugs... maybe it doesnt run well on the older consoles because somebody said that the old ps3's have lag and the people who have the older xboxes supposedly have texture bugs.

The issue has been reported on newer and older Xboxes so i don't think that has got anything to do with it.

Wow! If anyone is sceptical, that is the clearest demonstration I have seen yet of the problem.

At first I thought, yeah, that hand looks kinda OK, then he deletes the game install and reloads his game save and the textures on the hand are freaking awesome in comparison!

Not true, im playing from the disc and not all but some textures e.g. some indoor tables look horrible. or when Im facing right up against the wall (even though no game will ever go to that much detail but still).

That doesn't apply to me at all.

I have done exactly the same thing. I've tried playing with Skyrim installed and from the disc and I STILL get low res textures regardless.

Maybe it has something to do with your XB360 model? (I have a 250GB Silm) Maybe it's random. Either way, I REALLY, REALLY hope Bethesda fixes this ricky tick.

Pretty big problem, but certainly fixable.

Just had a crash, and uninstalled the game from the HDD and everything looks great.

Still crashed though, which is a bummer.

I'm still wondering why a game of this size is only a 3.8GB install o_O Gears 3 and forza 4 were both over 7GB, somethings not right here imo

I've been playing solely off the disk and the textures are pretty bad. Slim Xbox360 250 GB.

Some outside snow textures looks almost laughably bad. Won't stop me from playing though!

Most people who don't have a problem are playing on an elite or older model from what I've gathered. Most people with the problem are playing on slim. This might just be a coincidence though and I'm sure there are exceptions to this.;

I get texture issues while loading from the disc and I have a launch Premium 360.
They seem to come and go and happen for random things, except magic that's been spot on.

This may be a stupid question, but I don't know that much about the360. How do I know which model I have? If it means anything to you, the 360 I have we bought about a year ago, and it cam e bundled with the kinect thing. (Main reason to get it was for the kids, but I have a coupe of games. Never needed to know what model it is, though) If you can explain a bit, I'd be appreciative.
