Tired of spending half-an-hour trying to find that big restore health potion?
Tired of trying to look through tons of crud to find that sweet Ebony Arrow to shoot right in the face of some two-bit bandit, rather than your crummy Falmer Arrow?

Well look no further, and get Better Sorting! BS is no BS!

That's how potions SHOULD have been sorted! Makes no freaking sense for them to be sorted by Magnitude instead of Effect.

I'd rather it be modular, though. I really just want it on a few types of items (potions, misc).

Any chance for a variation where the items are named in the format "Arrows, Material" and "Ingo, Material" instead of the square brackets? This generally reads easier and is more typical notation for altering a name or title for the purposes of sorting. (e.g. movie names starting with "The" being written as "Skyrim Movie, The") Also, this mod appears to be all or nothing; having the option of turning on and off various segments of this mod would be awesome. For example, I'd love the renames for arrows and ingots, but prefer potions and foods to be unaffected.

Genius idea.

I can even think of an excuse why this wasn't in the game originally.

Do you think you could release a modular version? I use several crafting mods that restructure the smelting window by item type. However, if I load your mod it falls all under one column again. So, as it is, I can't use the mod since it modifies the ingots. However, I'd be glad to use the Arrow and Potions parts on their own. :)

Does moving this mod higher in the load order make a difference?

I like this a lot but does it also rename the potions generated by alchemy?

I really would like to continue using your mod but so far it seems there is a conflict with this mod....

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1622

When i have it load after the linked mod it works as intended, but it means several items that have been made weightless are now showing their original weight. But if i load your mod before the esp's from the weightless mod then your mod does nothing? Do you think that when the CK comes out you might be able to make your mod and Wolferoo mod compatible?

#1 I do plan on having a modular version at some point in the near-to-mid future.
#2 It does not currently affect potions made via alchemy. Hopefully, the CK will let me change that.
#3 The mod currently has a risk of conflicting with anything that modifies item name and properties (price, weight, name, etc...). I hope to reduce this clashing when the CK comes out.
#4 It might be possible to eliminate conflicts via Wrye Bash and bashed patches. I haven't tested it however. What you'd want to do is keep my item names, while using weight properties from weight rebalances mods, value properties from price rebalances, etc...

Wrye Bash can not help in this situation. I guess the Skyrim functions in WB are still being developed.

Ugh. Why didn't Bethesda do this originally? I'm amazed at what the community has been able to do even without the Creation Kit. I have a feeling PC users are going to be extremely happy come January when the Kit is released.

No, I tried that. But, as I thought, the mods below it just overwrote the changes. It was like the mod wasn't even active.

Yeah, I can't wait until we can merge leveled lists.

Idea:

Certain weapon sets (Draugr weapons, Falmer weapons) that have multiple tiers of strength don't sort particularly well.

Low-tier Draugr weapons start out as uniformly named "Ancient Nord Weapons". The next tier up, though, involves three "Honed Ancient Nord Weapons", one "Supple Ancient Nord Weapon", and one "Draugr Weapon". The third tier sorts reasonably well again, as all weapons start with "Drain-".

Instead, how about low-tier "Ancient Nord Common Weapons", mid-tier "Ancient Nord Greater Weapons", and leave 3rd tier as is?

Alternatively, name them "Weapon, Ancient Nord Common".

Why bother with massive changes? As per your examples, just have

Ancient Nord (weapon)
Ancient Nord Honed (weapon)
Ancient Nord Supple (weapon)

Draugr (weapon)

(After all, if they're naming the Draugr weapons entirely different, they're probably not meant as an extra "tier" to Ancient Nord weapons.)

And, uh, the "Drain" weapons are quest artefacts, as far as I know.
