better spells

spells changing apearance depending on their power. A hotter flame might be blue and better lightning might be brighter and have more strands of electricity

second thing- spells changing depending on the user. For example a witch's spells might all be red (red fire, red lightning etc) whilst a lich might have green lightning and green fire. Plus spells should behave a little differently with different characters. One npc may use lightning like a vortigaunt (half life) whilst another might be more discrete

spells should have better sprites and better animations. It looks stupid that in first person you constantly hold your hand in front of your face. When you are dual wielding or charging a spell up it should be much more interesting. Licks of magic might dance around your hands and switch from side to side rather than a little ball being made

Gameplay..

Being able to have casts buttons like oblivion.. but several

say.. C throws a fireball , v heals you and b makes you stronger. You can use these when you have weapons or other spells filling your hands. All spells/shouts can be equip-able to one of these. This would work with shurikens and throwing knives too >:)

Better sprites and animations is totally down to personal preference I for one am pretty happy with how my spells look, but for sure customising their looks would be a premium feature.

as for npc types having different spell visuals...it might be possible, but really I think it would be far too much effort for little pay off. I could be wrong it might take 5 minutes and be very easy, we will see when the CK is released. Though to make that kind of mod truly good would require an installer where each player can decide what every enemies spells might look like. since not everyone may agree that Necromancer fireballs are green, this is where the difficulty of implementing such a mod would be increased.

The question of HOW you use your magic is one I completely disagree with, hotkeying spells completely bypasses the idea of dual wielding and breaks all the mechanics like dual casting or mix and matching which come hand in hand with it.
