BiowareEA Recurring Fiascoes

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 3:04 am

Bioware has not released a game recently without a major Fiasco to accompany it...

Once a game is ready to ship they do not fail to infuriate their customers with some awful business ethic

It's a big company with a diverse fanbase. There will never be a game either company releases that 100% of the fanbase will be pleased with. The gaming community are naturally a bunch of divas.

Looks like the next fiasco will be that Day-1 purchasable DLC accompanying Mass Effect 3

EA svcks. Bioware svcks. Individual people have some good ideas... which are never executed properly. Endeavours there seem to always be incompetently pursued. What a shame/waste.

Also, greedy, dirty, etc.

Think it's called the Mass Effect thread...

I thought this.

Cutting garlic really thin with a razor blade, so it dissolves into the sauce, that's a very good system.

OT, sort of, and obviously just my humble opinion, feel free to disagree, if they announced that DA3 carried over your Warden from Origins, a la Mass Effect, I might actually break out the old rose-tinted round rims again.

 Like you could import your save into DA2, but if you killed Leliana, she was still alive? Yeah... no thanks.

As for my previous comment, it's not entirely true. ME2 is the most cohesive thing they've put out in more than a decade. The story was still hole-ridden and the gameplay wasn't spectacular. It was an okay, likeable game, that just happened to do well because nobody else has cornered that niche.

No, more along the lines of, let's pretend this never happened, and just make Origins 2.

True story : my son was playing DA2. Not realising this, I said "oh, you got the old Playstation 2 out of the cupboard?" Which is, I believe, in today's parlance, fail.

@Vadagar, sorry, I was agreeing with your point, and illustrating it with a joke exception, but if you haven't seen Goodfellas, I was being a bit obscure. Apologies.

That's nothing new, they did it with DA2 and I'm sure they've done it with other things too. That would be why I haven't bought a BioWare game since the first Mass Effect.

KOTOR and Jade Empire were pretty awesome. I feel that Bioware has only started to go downhill since they became a part of EA in 2007.

Gosh I sometimes think that Activision is less evil then EA, at least they tell you that they are going to take your money. What EA has done is the latest crap move and it's a slap in the face to anybody who is a fan of the franchise and Bioware in general. Bioware has really gone downhill since EA swallowed them whole, will only be a matter of time before Bioware ends up like Westwood.

Couldn't be bothered. There are better video game developers. As for the story: :lmao:

Depends on who you ask.

I'm not a Star Wars fan, so I didn't play KOTOR. I am a fan of Asian culture, and I hated Jade Empire.

Yay, a dedicated thread for all the haters to go in. I actually think this is a really good bad idea. It works on paper, but will it work in practice with the mods watching. Only time will tell. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/115997-BioWare-Defends-Mass-Effect-3-Launch-Day-DLC

Yup, and it only gets worse as technology progresses with more things that can go wrong going wrong. In honesty I think the gaming community has incorporated the trolls resulting in a breed of idiots running around. They only care about whining and complaining instead of enjoying a game. It really disgusts me at times to say that i'm a gamer and belong to the same bunch of morons out there.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y__N-JEXvyc, they don't even attempt to consider the other side might just have an opinion. It's like a primitive form of black and white morality. Back to the days of witch hunts, inquisitions, and good old fashioned hanging of anyone guilty of anything for any reason.

Westwood had several commercial failures like Renegade and Earth & Beyond before they went under, so it wasn't all on EA really. I don't know how well Nox did, but it probably wasn't a hit since EA quickly dropped support for that title.

Granted, those games were more fun than what Bioware has been putting out lately.

Nox was good. My 12-year-old self remembers it being good, anyway.

Never mind: I'm probably thinking of another, better game. I just looked at screenshots. That's not the game I played.

Sorry to say that not everyone will just let the industry bigwigs blatantly rip them off. It disgusts me even more to see how gamers have slowly been conditioned to accept more and more nonsense like cut content and ripoff DLC, and defend corporate greed.
