Yea, the combat is designed for casuals. I'm hoping Far Cry 3 will sate my thirst for a challenging open world game.

I decided to try out Dark Souls to take a break from Skyrim. I blew it!!! After loving the combat, and how MUCH of a challenge the game has I dont know if I can go back a Elder Scrolls game. Dont get me wrong I love the open world the elder scroll games, but the 1 dam thing that bugs me is how EASY the game is.

The ultimate game would be the open world of the elder scrolls combined with the combat and powerfull creatures and bosses of Dark Souls. Now would'nt this game rock

btw ,where is the 50-100 lvl stuff??? I want a dam challenge.

Ok im done im starting to go on a rant here.

Yeah, tried that... intrigued at first. Quickly got old. Combat difficulty is not, IMO, a game extender, nor does it make an RPG more fun (often less). Anyway, while I didn't have a terrible time of it, it got old REAL fast (been through the whole action/FPS thing since pre-Doom), and boring, and lack of "save anywhere", really, really bad game extender/design decision. I went back to Skyrim after about 8 hours. Maybe I'll play it again on PC, PTD edition and see if it helps.

Master difficulty will give most players a real challenge, but it still suffers from being too easy at high levels.

It's a damn fine game and very underrated. Plus the limited multiplayer and PvP aspects give the whole RPG experience a nice top to it.

I do not consider having to hit my enemy 50 times with a sword the 'fun' challenging. In Dark Souls you can kill most enemies in a few hits, but get hit yourself and it will most likely do some big damage.

Ask yourself, why is it so easy for you?
Is it because the game is easy and lacks a challnge or is it because you, the Dragonborn is a hardcoe powerful badass?
If you work on becoming strong you will face your foes with ease.
I saw one post claiming that dragon combat was too easy, poster just drank a lot of health potions and ended up victorious.
A bit of perspective here.
If poster hadn't used health potions poster would be dead.
Please search these forums for threads where people do non-combat builds.
Even at level 50+ if you aren't strong, don't have great armour, skills and weapons it will kill you.
It will chew you up and toss you away, literally in case of dragons.
I have had many of my less fighty 50+ chars die from dragons because they didn't have any armour or armor spells up.
I have even died with good armour because the Ancient dragon zapped me with damage I had no resistance against.
Flyby and dragons fighting smart will kill you if you aren't prepared or don't have any good Shouts, ranged weapons, spells coupled with good skill or enchanted items.

It is too obvious what you are trying to do. This thread has 0 discussion value and I am surprised the mods haven't locked it yet.

You can't really roleplay in Demon's/Dark Souls, though. All you can really do is fight, grind, and farm for items.

See, that's what always has me coming back to TES. There are games out there (i.e. Dragon's Dogma) that totally trump TES in quite a few departments, but they're all lacking in that essential TES trait: immersiveness.

Every RPG is different in its own way, combat is not the central mechanic to the Elder Scrolls games. Also, I think the reason why people say Skyrim is "easy", but can't give a good reason for it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWFzFsHc75U Depth, something the actual gameplay of Skyrim is missing compared with its predecessors.

That's where you are wrong, I have RP'd as multiple characters in the game, each with there own set of morals and skills. You can be a holy warrior of sunlight who helps others and does no wrong or a bloodthirsty Darkwraith killing all he can find.

Can you be anything other than that, though? Other than the binary choices the game presents for you? It's like saying you can roleplay as a hedgehog in a Sonic game. Sure you can - it's all the game lets you do.

Firstly, why the hell are you posting this?, second, if you really want advice, try some mods that enhance high-level gameplay if you play Skyrim on a PC, otherwise............ :swear:

Yes, it happens to me a lot when I love the characteristics of a game I somehow start looking for those particular features in all the other games. Skyrim (and TES in general) has also its strong points that make it stand out. I sometimes wish Witcher or Dragon Age had the full open world factor, or stealth mechanics (yea, steal in Witcher like there's no tomorrow). If one single RPG could combine what's the best in every series, then... yes I hope it will be TES.

You can be an powerful sorcerer that wishes to turn into a dragon, a swordmaster from Carim, a land where the warriors never use shields. There are plenty of options to choose from.
