Blocking dragon fire : V

Has anybody found a way to block dragon fire. I dont mean fire resist but real blocking , maybe with a ward or a shield.
I remember the main char blocking it with a shield but im not sure if its just for cinematic purposes.
Sorry if i misspelled something English is not my first language .

You can't block it, 'cause it's magic.
Dark elves get 30% magic resistance and u can get items in game which gives you improved fire resistance, but
then again some dragon use lightning etc. ))

If it was magic im sure i would be able to block it with a ward but since its a shout not magic im not so sure.

one way to block dragon breath is using trees and rocks as cover or this
