Bloodied bodies?

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 8:42 am

Just wondering - there's a way of adding a permanent 'ghost' effect to an NPC, effectively making them transparent and ghostly, but is there's also any way of putting blood decals on bodies? I couldn't find any appropriate effect, and placing regular decals does not affect the bodies, just statics.

Blood effects ... I think I read on here, somewhere, that someone did it by firing invisible-arrows at the target (arrows add blood decals, I believe?)?

Ghosts - The tick box to make an NPC a ghost does not make that NPC Blue and Shiney. Blue-Shinies are achieved with shaders (Search on here for a post about "Detecting Ghosts" ... lots oi useful info in that topic about ghosts and how they work)

Thanks, but invisible arrows seem to be a lot of hassle for such a basic effect. And... wouldn't these decals disappear after a while? I'm looking for something permanent, my goal is to create a dead, bloodied body, which would stay on its spot and remain bloodied forever.

you will have to create a texture set, and paint your own body texture if you want it permanent. take a look at Susanna (or whetever her name is, the murder victim in Blood On The Ice), maybe even recycle that one.
