Has anyone found a fix for the random blue screens? My game crashes when i do few things like 1.Talk to certain people 2.Go to console when outside 3. Use VATS 4. When i go to certain places 5.Whenever it feels like it... The patch helped nothing except now my music is all jittery in the menu. But anyhow i checked the "minidumps" the bluescreen leaves behind and the error is UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP and is caused by NV4_DISP.dll The bug check code is either 0X00000007f or 0x1000007f. i have fixed every other problem ive had with this game but this seems to be coming from the NVidias drivers. oh and my GPU is 9800gt

Have you tried updating or rolling back the drivers to an earlier version?


A blue screen is usually always caused by either hardware, driver or system issues. A game won't be responsible, but it can trigger the already existing problem, in this case possibly some error in the drivers.

Yes i have. i tried 4 different drivers that people reported fixing their fallout 3. i updated my audio drivers that fixed my glitcheries because i was using wrong ones as pseudodrivers (didnt even know its possible) Overclocked and underclocked my cpu. fiddled with my Gpus clocks and now the last thing im going to check is my RAM sticks because ive heard that 0x7f error is sometimes RAM based.

EDIT: Now i have tested all my 4 one gb RAM sticks and none of them was faulty.
