Blurry or Blackout screen effect

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 7:54 am

I've been trying to use camera attachments to blur out my characters vision when he enters a certain zone, but I have failed to find any appropriate effects...

I want the vision to become blurry, possible darken/blackout and also narrow it down (black edges sort of)

Perhaps not all of this is possible, but do you guys have any idea which effects to use in order to get as close to this as possible? Or am I using the wrong method?

I don't know what you mean by camera attachments, but these will allow you to do exactly that:http://www.creationkit.com/Imagespace_Modifier.

Read up on them. You can use scripts to apply them when you want. http://www.creationkit.com/ImageSpaceModifier_Script.

By the sounds of things, you would want to apply the IMods via a Trigger Zone.

Okay I will look into that, thanks!

CameraAttachments can be used on trigger boxes, to apply things like dust, snowfall, images (the elder scroll "runes") etc onto the screen.

Let us know how you get on. I have a scene upcoming where I'm going to want to blindfold the player. I can probably get the effect I want by making vision drop off sharply and keeping the foreground very dark, but I'd love to be able to super-impose a weave effect, as if the PC was peering through chinks in a threadbare cloth.

If you can narrow the field of vision, I can probably use the same effect for my blindfold.
