In the middle of some interesting combat I would be looting peoples bodies instead of fighting which broke the flow for me at times and it was just natural because many games have it now.
But here is the biggest difference, In other games I know looting bodies is more time consuming because I have to select his body and a menu might pop up and then I take all the loot. So insitinctively I know that I first have to kill everything, then I will loot everyone's bodies. In case of Rage I loot people's bodies even during combat because it's just pressing E and getting stuff.
Another issue is that in Rage if you kill a person with an explosive there is no body to loot, so it may deter some people to actually use explosives. I mean it may limit people's choice in arsenal even though they don't want to just because they want loot.
So my question to the everyone is should DooM 4 have such a mechanic. Honestly IMO loot and ammo lying around is fine but no collecting stuff from people's bodies.
Also for DooM4 I feel there should be no regenrating health. There should also be no health packs. It should be something like you have an encounter with the enemy. You kill em all and after which you would usually find a smartly placed health station or a medic who can heal you. This way people will be forced to finish the encounter at hand with the limited Ammo and Armor with them and not have to go into a corner and camp every few seconds for health to regen.
This will help make missions more challenging and the action will feel constant and people who die the first time will find new ways to finish it in the retry.
