Books one can easily enjoy

Post » Fri Jul 06, 2012 12:37 pm

I've always been a bookworm and have been looking for something new to read and as yet have been unsuccessful. I read through Harry Potter, Inheritance, and many other books as well but I want to focus on reading (and maybe even catching up on) others now.

What are some other good titles that are out there?

Easy to enjoy as in easy to read / casual reading? If not, Atlas Shrugged is great.

Some non-fiction I'm reading right now is Jacked a Grand Theft Auto Story (something like that). It's a nice casual read that tells the history of Rockstar and GTA, but it's not very detailed, just a brief overview.

I've been reading the noval Willow (based on the movie) it's not a bad book if you can still find it. Otherwise Tom Clancy is pretty good read.

Raymond E. Feists Magician, first book of the Riftwar saga.
The quality in the series is erratic, but the first book is pretty solid and easy to get into.

The original Weis/Hickman Dragonlance books are great as well, and pretty light reading as well.

There is a series by some Australian author who I can't remember who wrote a brilliant (imo) three part series, I can't remember his name but they are Seven Ancient Wonders, Six Secret Stones and Five Great Warriors, as long as you don't care about believability, b-grade conspracy theories or some racial stereotyping they are a great casual read.

The Name of the Wind is absolutely fantastic.

It's not just one of the greatest fantasy novels of the past decade, but one of the greatest STORIES of the past decade. It's easy to read and doesn't bore readers with any unnecessary description or filler, but it's exceptionally well thought-out and the characters are very believable.

It is quite long at about 800 pages, but trust me when I say you won't feel it at all.
