Bosses can teleport, but I can't?

Ain't that a [censored]? What school of magic is teleportation anyway? Must be one of the magic skills Skyrim got rid of.

On a less trollish subject, I had a question. I remember in an article or an interview sometime after they first started releasing information about Skyrim when the original trailers were shown. It mentioned something about the 'radiant quest' system and how no quest could be unfinished because there was always an alternative quest giver and quest finisher.

For example, if a quest giver died, the quest could still be turned in and finished by a character that knew the quest giver. And even if they died, the last resort that always remained was you could turn the quest in to a guard.

This sounded like a good idea, but then when the game came out, I read about a lot of the risk of quest givers dying due to dragon attacks, and I guess I forgot about it.

Did I imagine this feature, or maybe I misheard how the system really works? :{o~

Not sure about teleportation. The nearest I saw it occuring by a NPC was making creative use of instant invisibility and was scripted to pop in and out of invisibility in predictable spots.
It could appear as teleportation if you didn't notice the faint outline. However there is not teleportation in skyrim as far as I know... atleast not with magic.

The Radiant quest system has limitation and is not applied to all quests. It does exist in some quests, but it certainly was exagerated.

As far as I know, that feature only exists for the Golden Claw quest, and if you kill the trader and his sister, then you're truly [censored].

Hagravens can teleport too. And since this effect is an in-game effect...there will be a mod for the player to have it once the CK drops.

Are you sure they are "teleporting"? Because all the ones that do do it that I've seen are "invisible" for a while before they reappear, so they could just be going invisible and walking there? It'd be pretty cruel of BS to say we can't teleport it breaks the game but then let enemies have it to rub it in.

I remember reading articles on that "feature", not sure how much was quotes though and I don't remember seeing stuff that says quests will not be unfinishable because you can turn stuff into guards. But even to the extent I understood it as it simply doesn't exist, I've never seen a new shop keep replace a dead one, not had lucan die but he does say his sister can help you, she'll even stand behind the counter at times but have no option to shop with her, almost like they planned to implement it, got as far as riverwood added dialogue for the sister and forgot about it then.

The caller was one of the ones I mean, even in that tiny room shes not seen for at least 10 seconds, it could just be scripted to drink a potion and walk there. Someone on pc surely could find out, she may be given immunity while invisible or I could just be missing.

"Sigdis will conjure two illusions of himself and teleport to one of four spots in the room"

I've seen at least 3 teleporters in Skyrim, the other two were necromancer bosses

this is one of the other teleporters

I haven't seen teleporting but I heard of one NPC necromancer boss who can.
Closest thing to teleportation I have seen is the magic "arrow dodge" some bandits seem to be able to do on instinct.

Teleportation was part of Mystisium in Morrowind...its been removed now (since without teleport spells it was very useless).......so yeah, no teleporting for you!

You forget you can teleport via some of the Guilds in Morrowind. Also the mark and recall etc.

Also, we had the DLC in Oblivion that was Frostcrag Spire which allowed us to teleport.

Not true. It works for other quests, too.

For instance, the Companions' first 'quest'
Spoiler
where you beat someone up, will either direct you to the Whiterun tavern, if you've already completed the Golden Claw/Dragon Tablet quest, or to Sven in Riverwood if you haven't.
There are a few more examples, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Then you havent played many TES games.
Teleportation was in all the games until Oblivion and was removed because.. well.
I dont know why, because they like increasingly simple games with less and less options I suppose.
Now NPC's can do things we cannot, hurray.

The few teleporting ennemies aren't using anything like mark/recall - they're using some pre-enchanted pads and move from one to the other. I have no qualms with that sort of system mixed with an inability to teleport 'in the field'. Basically it's doable but requires special preparations that teh player has not acess to. Without the mage's guild and with the general dislike of teh populace for mages and magic, it's not very surprising those features are nowhere to be seem.

It 's also worht noting that as far as gampelay go, for most uses, fast travel and carts perfomr that function in game. Excepted for the 'pile up all of dungeon's loot in one spot, grab it all and teleport to the vendor/storage' trick.

Fluff wise I agree that their absence deson't make sense.
