Bounty on me but guards won't accept my surrender.

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:59 am

I've got myself into a bit of a pickle. I attacked some Thalmor who were taking a prisoner to be "questioned". Trouble is the local Whiterun constabulary have joined in and they won't accept my surrender. Stupidly I saved during the rather protracted battle (normally I'd save in a new slot) so I can't go back.

I tried just running away and surrendering to another guard but he just killed me as well.

So how can I pay my bounty off when the guards won't arrest me?

Thanks.

Run away, and wait a couple days. Ditch anything stolen on you, than walk into town.

Usually when this happens I pull out my weapons, attack a guard once and put them away. If that doesn't work go find a different guard, run up to him weapons drawn and then put them away. Sometimes they get hung up on wanting your dead.

Sometimes your current bounty is just too high, and they just instantly and incessantly keep attacking you. It svcks, but they also tell you about this possibility in the loading screens at times.

Like Haleand said, run away until the guards aren't chasing you any more, and then fast-travel right back to the same city/town that you were running from. The guards near the front gate (where you conveniently appear), should immediately go into uber-machismo arrest mode.

And then your bounty gets cleared up.

if you find it hard staying alive whilst running away, you could lower game level to 'Novice'???
