Bows

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 10:35 am

So I "dun goofed" and went down the left path of the smithing tree as it was for light armor and thats what I use. So I don't have a daedric bow. I was wondering what is the next best bow or if it is really worth it to spend more skill points just to get the daedric bow. Thanks :)

Edit: Or is there somewhere I can get the daedric bow instead of making it?

Glass, as in Oblivion, is the light armor equivalent of Daedric. So, go for a glass bow.

Ebony is the second best bow. I think you can find Daedric weapons and armour at high levels, but I'm not sure.

At its highest http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Leveled_Items#Nightingale_Bow, damage is equal to the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Weapons#Bows bow. Just you cannot enchant it as it's pre-enchanted.

You can find Daedric(maybe) and Ebony(likely) around level 40 and sometimes before. Ebony is quite common in draugr overlords and in chests.

You can still upgrade it at the forge by using a potion or enchantment and get similiar stats to a daedric.

Best you can make with light armor smithing is glass bow. Nightingale bow is the best quest related bow by far. So until you can find or unlock perks to make Daedric bows go with one of the two.

You can also make Daedric weapons and armor under the mages college. There's an altar there you use.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Smithing#Item_Quality requires a specific level of smithing, lower with the requisite perk. Nightingale Bow is not effected by the Ebony Perk (despite being an ebony bow), and since you are also in the light tree, you need a total of 196 effective smithing level to get to Legendary Status.

Oh, so even if I was to find a daedric bow I couldn't upgrade it, great... There doesn't happen to be a way to reset skills does there?

Why does everyone automatically assume that everyone else has the money for a PC that runs games nicely, or that everyone plays on PC?

Read my sig. I'm sick of all this "Make a Mod for it!" crap.

Apparently not since daedric bow is the best bow in the game. I agree thats how it should be though.

Reset perks no. But it is possible for you to get your smithing up. Through a combination of fortify enchanting to smith fortify alchemy recursion, you can get your armor to fortify enchanting up to 29% bonuses iirc. Unsure if you need the perks for that. But through that you can enchant fortify smithing up to the same levels, giving you enough do upgrade to legendary

Bring up the display, shrouded armour is light IIRC, Dragon masks vary between light and heavy.

You need to make a mod for all that anger.

Seriously though, Glass or Nightingale.
