Are The Character Models Completely Brain-dead?
Watched some trailers, some gameplay footage, and it seemed like the character models had no genuine or unique personality besides appearance and slight facial features
It needs..
More facial expressions, perhaps some localized voice acting in things other than "Urrraahhgg" and "Wagghhhh"
The best expression is "expressed" during the best parts of the game. For example, if you kill a mage player as, say, a rouge, your character would have a series of lines that would be stated based on the situation I.E "looks like i stole your thunder" After killing a mage who was using primarily electric spells, as a thief rogue, thus, the player you killed recognized who you are in just a single voiced line.
If you lockpick a chest, you say a joke about how easy it was to pick that lock, which can also be heard by nearby players.
"But wouldn't that take too long to add? They are on a schedule and it has to be released at this time right?"
This is a poor excuse leading up to many poor releases over the past couple of years. The only reason this set, "finate" time exists is because ZOS is following suite with other titles that had made off with a tidy, hardly finished and par-subpar game. Can you name one game released in the past 2 years that is not seeing a decline?
I can name one, Dota 2. Yes the scenario is a bit different but the game is free to play and they spent years determining the correct release date, polishing each and every little thing until they decided "its done". The game is STILL growing as the content released to date is no longer content to fix the game, but rather improve it-spice it up.
If ESO had intended to add more personality to the currently brain-dead player models, other than /emotes and text responses they would have already considered adding it. Adding something like that post-release has very little lasting effect on the players.
A game like Dota 2, or, Starcraft 2, or even Warcraft 3, for example, immediately gives players a warm charming sensation when they pick it up, and it plays like its finished, with those extra details which make the player think "Wow, they really didn't miss a thing!"
ESO doesn't even have the F2P excuse, its following the WoW formula as if its as groundbreaking as Vanilla WoW was when it released with all its new(and old) bells and whistles with a wonderful, seamless world.
ESO is one of those games that will have a big burst of players for its launch and the month after, and then it will quickly decline, as players quickly will find a lack of the extra detail that adhesively keeps players interested.
