BREAKING NEWS: Veteran Modders Go Indie

Post » Sun Aug 25, 2013 9:14 am

A group of Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout and Skyrim modders have taken the next bold step into Indie game development. http://www.druidgameworks.com/ are proud to announce the development of their first title, http://www.druidgameworks.com/projectunwritten.html

'A shadow looms on the horizon when an ancient foe returns from the depths of the abyss to stake a claim on the land of Midengard. The old ones whisper a prophecy foretelling a time when creation will falter, the ancient god tree from which all life springs will wither and die, and the fate of our worlds will lie on the shoulders of an Unwritten; a rare legendary figure who is unbound from the wheel of fate and who, through their actions, will alter the flow of destiny.'

'The battle for Midengard begins in the heartlands of Aerendwel, where you alone stand in the balance between good and evil, able to choose your fate and change the fate of of the world. As you quest to uncover the truth about the past and your elusive enemy, will your choices bring salvation to the land...or destruction?'

The open world RPG game, which is undoubtedly inspired by Bethesda's Elder Scrolls series is currently in development for PC, XBOX One and PS4. The game is being developed using the Havok Vision Engine which will bring all the AAA graphics and physics pazazz today's gamers expect.

A Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight campaign will be commencing shortly, and this is were you can get involved.

The game designers are listening to suggestions from avid RPG gamers, and you can also back the game by becoming an 'Official Backer' which comes with its own perks.

To enable this venture to become a success, we need support from the community we've come from to give us a leg-up.

So get on over to our homepage, join the community, and be part of this exciting venture.

Peace out!

That's really cool. I will definitely check this game out when it releases. :D

And people told me starting off a game developing/designing career with modding ES games was stupid. :P

I'll be watching out for that and would donate too if I had the funds.

I dont remember anyone saying it was stupid but that getting into the game dev is hard. Hell you can take the mods you make and use them as a resume to show what you have done.

Plot sounds suspiciously like Skyrim's...

Still, kudos.

Hmm, I get a lot of 'Kingdoms of Amalur' vibes from this.

Anyways, wish them all best of luck with this.

Despite our ES based education, it's not a Skyrim clone. :lmao:

This is just a generic overview of the theme not the plot, you could apply the same devices to pretty much every RPG. We'll be revealing more specific (and decisively non ES) details about the plot in our Kickstarter on Sept 15th
