I am a follower of the series since 2002 and I was initially very annoyed at a MMO TES idea. But then I thought: Beth has been slowly transforming the game in a casual fashion. Back in 2002, the game Morrowind, could not be easily understood nor played by someone under 18, it required reading and attention. It was the true role playing game that singleplayer rpg players of that era wanted to see. Today, these hardcoe RPG players are a minority. And since Beth has to win money, the game has become less concentrated on content and lore but more concentrated on action in order to get attention of a louder audience. It had to be this way.
But now that a MMO game is coming, which I believe will also get released on consoles somehow, perhaps Beth can renew it's point of view on the single player series and increase the consistency and maturity of the game. (Mounted combat for starters)
I wish this MMO to be a good game. I don't wish it to be too good for Beth to discontinue the single player series. I want it to be good enough so that while enough cash flows in with a MMO, Beth will free to focus on it's hardcoe singleplayer customers who play the game with attention rather than those who like it as a living room entertainment.
