Brotherhood quest stuck

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:25 pm

Hello everyone,

I originally posted this in the 'hints' forum, but it turns out it's more likely a bug so I'll post it here as well:

I've worked my way through the initial chain of the Brotherhood quests and went the route of keeping the current head in place (sorry, can't remember their names off-hand). He congratulated me on my work, gave me the Brotherhood hide-out key, and increased my reputation. I went and spoke with the other guy (who was trying to replace him) and he started in w/ "thanks for the information, I'm going to start the proceedings to oust the current head".

Now both people just have a "thanks for your help, but I'm busy preparing for trial" dialogs with no further options. I've tried waiting for 4+ days (but probably less than a week) to see if it would advance the quest chain like it did for Ed-E and I also worked on a handful of side quests and main quest to see if I'd get any new Brotherhood options (I've already told Yes Man to leave the Brotherhood alone).

I did notice a Brotherhood patrol leaving the Hidden Valley bunker, which I thought was a positive development, but alas no new dialog options from either person. Is the quest chain stuck in a loop or am I just being impatient and should just wait some more?

Thanks,

All Macnamarra says is "leave me be, I have to prepare my defense" or something to that effect.

Thankfully I had seen a post on this and I avoided this issue myself.

They definitely need to fix it as it breaks the remaining BoS quest line.

There is a "home brew" fix for PC players but sadly nothing for the consoles.
