Brotherhood Turns Hostile For No Reason

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:03 pm

Hey all,
I've completed the entire Brotherhood questline, allied them with the NCR, and never attacked a single Brotherhood member. I've had no issues with them until several days ago I entered the Hidden Valley bunker and every member of the Brotherhood was automatically hostile to me; I was NOT wearing any kind of faction armor at the time. I had several mods involving the Brotherhood installed at the time, but I've uninstalled them and the problem persists. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, can you offer a solution? I'm perfectly willing to use console commands if there's one to stop them from being hostile towards me.

If it helps, the turrets aren't hostile to me; only the NPCs are.

Have you tried the faction console commands?

I'll try them, but my problem is that I'm currently Liked by the Brotherhood, and they still inexplicably open fire on me.

EDIT: Finally got it after monkeying around with Reputations; thanks!

Are you using Veronica as a companion? She can have that effect on the Brotherhood. And it is no bug. It is a dialog option. In my 4 playthroughs, this has only happened outside the bunker.

Has it happened to you inside? If so, examine how you handled the Col. Moore questline (I won't spoil it anymore).

Also....why do you keep going back?

Well, hell, the Reputation fix worked last night but I accidentally overwrote that save and when I went to do the same thing again, it didn't work. :\ I have no idea why, either. I was able to go down and talk to Ramos last night after doing it, when I do it now he's still hostile.

@Halcyon-I brought the Moore quest to a peaceful conclusion; same with Veronica's personal quest. I keep going back because the Brotherhood is my favorite faction and I want to be able to use their vendors, as well as mods featuring them. Having them hostile towards me when I expressly went out of my way to preserve them and get on their good side kinda svcks.
This is not a quest-related issue, the Brotherhood is simply turning hostile to me. I haven't stolen anything from them, I'm not wearing faction armor, I haven't taken on a quest to destroy them; they just turn hostile. I've completed their entire questline, in point of fact!
I was able to use reputation-setting commands to get them to stop being hostile last night, but when I did the same thing earlier today, I got no results. And I have no idea why.
Setting Faction Rank or Faction Reaction doesn't stop them from being hostile, either. I set myself to be a faction member, faction ally, and have a positive reaction from faction members with console commands, and they STILL attack me! :banghead:

Any console command that could even potentially get them off my back would be much appreciated.

Man, I feel for you. I wanted to bond with the Brotherhood, too, and did exactly as you did. But I haven't been back. I'll go back and see if it happens to me. I don't trust those console commands to adjust gameplay levels, etc. It could be that you have to adjust another faction's reputation, rather than Brotherhood's.

If I discover anything, I'll let you know.

I've been kind of bragging around here that my game is perfect since the last fix.....but tonight I experienced two freezes and had to force exit. WTF, huh?

Good luck.

Thanks, I appreciate it! :)

What really just boggles me is that it worked last night, and it refuses to now.

Damn. Check your syntax. Or set it to another setting, save, then back to what you want.

I went back to the Brotherhood, but they were not violent. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Thanks; I really have no idea why it worked once but now never again. There's gotta be another command somewhere, though; I do have FOSE if that helps.

Hi,

I have a problem with my game, Before trying a mod out (Warzone Mis--) I read that the BoS in that mod were a seperate faction from the vanilla BoS and safe to kill so I killed some of them.

Now the vanilla valley BoS attack on sight including Paladin Sato at the safehouse.

(I have now unchecked the mod)

I am idolised status with BoS according to the pip boy, when I run "getfactionreaction 00154307 0001b2a4" I get the output 0-0 which I believe means enemy?

Player= 0001b2a4

BoS= 00154307

Although when I use the "getcrime" type queries I am told I have commited no crimes against them.

I have tried waiting and the following console commands for information or a fix.

ClearFactionPlayerEnemyFlag
ClearActorsFactionsPlayerEnemyFlag
GetActorCrimePlayerEnemy
GetActorFactionPlayerEnemy

I have tried "setally 00154307 001b2a4" and also "clearfactionplayerenemyflag 00154307" in the console to try to repair this but to no avail.

Are there any other ways of getting info as to why this is happening or commands to fix this?

How am I attacked when I am"idolised" and it reports no crimes?

I have entered these codes from other cells as advised and done the waiting time & am not in faction armor, they are hostile before they see me ( Red bars).

I have GECK if this will help but am a total noob with it, I can however follow instructions.

Any advice appriciated.

Thank You.
