Bug: Blue ray of light from my character into the sky

Post » Wed Aug 08, 2012 9:14 pm

Hi.

I encountered a weird graphical bug today while playing. The bug occured towards the end of the Soul Cairn just before or after fighting the dragon. Basically I have a blue-white light emitting from my character which travels upwards into the sky. It's with me indoors, outdoors, while moving etc. It simply never goes away. I have tried restarting the game and disabling mods, as well as googling without having found a solution to the problem. Has this happened to anyone else? And is there a solution to be found? It's aesthetically game-breaking as it's VERY apparent, even in first-person view.

I have a screenshot, but I'm not allowed to post links here. Basically the ray looks like a laser-beam the width of my character and is blue/white of color.

Hope someone knows what to do.

Played around a bit more. If I go into Vampire Lord form, the beam disappears. But when I revert back to human form, it's back again. I also did some console commands to go to race select screen. That kind of solves the problem for a second. The beam disappears, but my character's skin and armor is covered in some watery effect blue glow, much like an enchanted weapon. However, once I go into first-person view again from the default third person after a race change, the beam reappears.

I'd prefer not to do a rollback unless absolutely necessary, as it involves losing about 6h of progress. Stupid me using mostly autosaves...

Sounds like the beam of light that gets applied by the drain health effect of the giant soulgems in the cairn, most likely the only fix is to revert to a save before it happened.

Yeah, that's very likely where it's from. Trying everything to fix it, but to no avail. Here's a screenshot of it, just remove the []. http://imageshack.[us]/photo/my-images/3/screenshot3en.
