Bug on daggers +one hand weapon damage amplify ?

Post » Sat May 26, 2012 7:31 pm

Hi,

I found that the entire +one hand weapon damage amplify do NOT affect daggers.

When I equip my boots with this enchantment, damages of my daggers aren't amplified (82 damages before wearing boots, 82 damages after wearing boots). But I have one sword which displays 84 damages before wearing boots, and 110 damages after wearing boots.
=> So the bug is only for daggers. Daggers are one-handed weapons, why the enchantment doesn't amplify their damages ? -_-'

I saw on another forum people complaining about this problem too.

Thanks.

Ok, I'm not english or american, I will try to use other words and make it simple :

1° )
I've boots with Fortify One-Handed effect, not equipped.
I've a one-handed sword - 84 damages displayed
I equip boots with Fortify One-Handed effect, this sword then display 110 damages...It's good, it works normaly :)

2°)
I've boots with Fortify One-Handed effect, not equipped.
I've daggers - 82 damages displayed
I equip boots with Fortify One-Handed effect, daggers still display 82 damages...I think it is not normal because it's a one-handed weapon like the sword. :(

So there is a problem with Fortify One-Handed effect and daggers. But why ?

I dont think this is a bug, but a design choice to make the 15x sneak multiplier for daggers useful.
I dont think armsman affects daggers as well.

Please search informations before say things like that.

1) Daggers are one-handed weapons
2) Their damages depend on your one-handed skill
3) Putting points/perks in Armsman affects daggers damages.

Fortify one-handed should works on dagger, but it doesn't, it's a little bad bug that should be fixed, please ?

For example today :
- my sword does 263 damages (and can do more if I up one-handed and armsman).
- my daedric dagger does 82 damages, that's not fair. And to do sneak damages :
* you need a high sneak skill and put lot's of perks (so it's a choice and an investment). Without perks you do as much sneak damages, as a sword.
** you need to approach sneakly your target close enough
*** you need to pray to kill it in one attack and pray that there aren't friends of it around...
**** sneak and daggers are good for 1 or 2 ennemies at the same time...with low damages, if there are more ennemies, you can cry.

You also realize your dagger of 82 damage times 15 is ~1200 easily exceding the hp of almost every single enemy in the game, right?

and for the sword : 263 damages times 6 is 1578 ! Hmm a sword in sneak attack so does much more damages thant a dagger ? And this sword does 3+ times more damages than the dagger at every attack ? And with perks this sword could inflict critical damages 20% of the time (+50% damages) ?

That's problematic isnt't it ?

=> please think about that before post again. This post is only to report a bug and asking for its fix.

Thanks

So wait. Is there a damage bonus for a 1-handed weapon plus free hand?

Cebalrai: yes the sneak damage perks will apply to a one handed weapon and nothing in the other hand.

Malpaos: I'm curious how much enchanting you have used to get 263 damage on a one handed sword? That seams like you have used a substantial amound of One handed damage bonuses as well as over smithing the item.

But in regular combat there's no bonus, right? No reason to have the free hand?
