It happened right after I completed a specific contract for the Dark Brotherhood.

I killed a particular khajit who travels with the caravan and parks in front of Whiterun. After doing so, no fence will accept my items. I can "sell" them, but I receive absolutely no compensation for the item in question.

I'm not sure what to do. Playing a thief character this time around, this is particularly perplexing since I have a ton of stuff that is stolen. I can't seem to pawn it off on anyone however, because none of the fences provide money for the stolen items.

Has anyone encountered this problem, or is there a solution someone can suggest? This is a huge bug for me, and I can't seem to find any other mention of the issue. Thanks everyone.

Fences? Since when do man-made barriers sell items?

I don't think they are related. I've done this quest also, but they still pay me gold.

Fences, as in Thieves Guild merchants that buy stolen goods.



Then it's just a really weird ass bug. Pretty terrible, honestly. Any way for me to console fix this?

So, found out it's the Rich Merchants mod I'm using. Apparently it's not compatible with Thieves Guild fences, and this is not just a problem with Skyrim or the mod, but all similar mods in Bethesda games. Just didn't realize this in my previous plays because I didn't really use the guild vendors.
