BUG: lockpicking keys don't get remapped with leftright

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 2:46 pm

Here's an annoying little bug in the PC version: I remapped the movement keys from WASD to my usual ESDF, but in doing so the lockpicking movement keys don't also get remapped - I still have to use A/D, and not S/F.

Also, remapped keys don't get shown on screen - I get messages like "Press [E] to take", when my action keys has been remapped to 'T'.

In fact the whole key remapping thing needs some work - e.g. as far as I can see, I can't change the "take all" button from 'R' to something more usable for me.

It'd also be extraordinarily useful to be able to map favourites (or at least the most used) to key presses too. All these keys on my keyboard and I can't use most of them!

UPDATE: also the up/down keys don't get remapped for the favourites menu. on other menus (e.g. inventory) I can use my remapped up/down keys (E/D) to move up & down, but on the favourites menu it uses the default up/down keys W/S.

I'm pretty sure you can map any equipable items by pressing any number on them

Awesome - that seems to work nicely, thanks.

Now if only the game came with a manual, I'm sure it would have explained that...

UPDATE: For all those players on PC with no manual, I found a poorly photographed copy of the X-box manual, here: http://imgur.com/a/RFee1 It's not perfect, but it's better than the nothing you get with Steam.
