BugGlitch Report-Other issues and Requests

Hello,
Im a big Quake fan for over 10 years.
And to be honest, im rather disappointet about the qualitiy of Quake Arena Arcade.
There are several Glitches,Bugs and Issues that must not have been in the retail version of the Arcade version of Quake Arena.
So i hope you can fix most off it and thats why im here ,to report them.

Bugs and Glitches:
  • Custom Controller Configuration not active or not full active when starting the game first time, you have to pause it go to controller settings open the controller sheme ,and then its active again.
  • Spawning in 3rd person mode.Sometimes if you join a server you spawn in 3rd person mode you have to back out start singleplayer match and hope next time you dont spawn in 3rd person View.
  • In multiplayer match, you sometimes get stuck in place, in air, in a corner or near a wall and cant move, sometimes crouch will make you mobile again if not you have to wait to get killed.
  • Sometimes no SFX sound playing for armor pick up,you pick up an yellow or red armor and the corresponding sound plays not.
  • Sometimes no SFX sound playing for when someone picks up Powerups,Quaddammage, Haste, Regeneration.
  • Randomly getting kicked out of Multiplayer matches mid game with the message, the host diconnected but the match remains on.This most times causes a systeme freeze next time searching for player games, and trying to join the same match.
  • Problems with Searching for games= infinite searching screen
  • One time i whent in a TeamDeathmatch game on ArenaGate and everyone (5players), where in the Blue team, even after rejoining the match it put everyone in the same team(noone in the other team),also when pressing back and checking the scoreboard it said "UndefiniedPlayer" for everyone
  • Random System Freezes while in loading macth screen.
  • Random System Freezes while checking Macthlist.
  • Random System Feezes while checking leaderboards.
  • In Campaign i had it 2 times that after succesfully done a mission it did not save it and i had to redo the mission.
  • In Campaign after a game ended it didnt showed the scoreboard and i was stuck in the game
  • Match countdown dont let you move after the match starts for 1 or more seconds.>Yu cant move while other players are allready playing, picking up weapons or even attack you.

Issues and Problems

For Team Games

  • You cant change Teams during ongoing Games!
  • You cant change Teams in Matchlobby when all slots filled, you whant to swap 2 ppl the teams? ,someone has to leave and rejoin , thats really poor design.
  • The game decides on its own to put single people in the other team if someone left and teams are uneven! Well Let us change teams on our own we dont need to be babysitted.

General
  • No Taunt !? You seriously removed this? Fundamental Gameplay feature in Quake.
  • Not be able to drop Flag. Fundamental Gameplay feature in Quake.
  • Not be able to drop a weapon. Fundamental Gameplay feature in Quake.
  • No Spectator Mode! Fundamental Gameplay feature in Quake that also would allow to ppl host servers while themselfs not playing.
  • No 1 on 1 gamemodes like Duel or Turney Mode. Fundamental Gameplay feature.
  • Not be able to Host DedicatedServers.Fundamental Gameplay feature in Quake.(Map rotation and voting feature included)
  • No Warmup Time before the game starts waiting for all players to ready up Fundamental Gameplay feature in Quake
  • Not be able to turn off Powerups.(ex.quaddamage and Items ex.Teleport)
  • Missinig TeamForceModel,EnemyTeamForceModel,EnemyForceModel(without having the same model for your self.
  • Why no team overlay ? (little scorebox that shows teammembers health, armor, ammo and location )
  • In deepth settings for sensitivity,as it is now, no matter what settings you choose there is a point when you move your thumpstic/aim the speed goes rapidly up, that doesnt allows for fluid movement used for circle and strafejumping in perfection.An acceleration adjustment bar for X and Z would be needet.
  • Why didnt you include a weapon choose system thats better for Controllpads. Like press LB to activate weapon choose then press a direction on the right thumbstick for the coresponding weapon allignet for that direction.
  • Well and while we at it, Why oh why couldnt we get mouse and keyboard support for this game.
  • Missing several Maps from Quake 3 Arena.
  • Missing several Gamemodes like Instagib or FreezeTag
  • Missing legacy controll sheme
  • Edit: missing several Character models

Thats all i have in mind for now,if i come accross more Bugs Glitches and issues ill post a reply.
Quake 3 really didnt deserve to be such a Wattererd down port, I hope you can at least fix the Gamebreaking Bugs Gliteches and fix the Teammode issues.

Problems:
West Europe Hosting: I can only Host for 2 Players with 25MB Down- and 1MB Upload?

Theres a problem with Party chat while playing Quake AA
  • You randomly get kicked out of party chat while playing QuakeAA

Some more stuff


Why doesnt it show the Host Name in the Matchlist?
Why cant we open a server or practice match with zero players just to practice movement. Or jump aroudn while waiting for players to join.
The Whole matchlobby Idea is a step backwards and we whant the Warmup sytem back along with Ping numbers in the scoreoard
Why cant we remap FireWeapon?? Would be better on RB then on RT .
Would be nice to have a PausemanuINdicator over peoples head in game when they pressed start just like it is in the Original and as it should be

I totally approve of this thread, but I doubt you guys will do anything to fix these problems. The game will die very quickly, and we will have all been screwed out of our money.

Its simple its a problem with the games net code doubt it was even tested before it hit the marketplace. What a [censored] thing to pull bethesda i thought you cared about your games looks like i was wrong. after the cluster[censored] that was fallout out new vegas, now this. If this is not sorted which i very much doubt you will do anything about it as you have already got your money quake will die before it gets going


i for one want a status report from bethesda on what they have found out whats wrong with the game, Ithink they owe us this at least


and as it being my ISP or my nat settings thats a load of [censored]

I blame PII Studios more, they messed up the wolfenstein Multiplayer and so they did with Quake. Also dont buy anything from raven games,they did not so well with Quake4.

i am in the process of getting a refund of microsoft here in the uk we have a little thing called the trade discription act 1968

Each product sold must be as described, of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose as described refers to any advert or verbal description made by the trader. Satisfactory quality covers minor and cosmetic defects as well as substantial problems and means that products must last a reasonable time but does not give any rights if a fault was obvious or pointed out at point of sale. Fit for purpose covers not only the obvious purpose of an item but also any purpose queried by the customer and given assurances about by the trader.

False descriptions as to services require the more normal proof of mens rea (guilty intent).

Still no word on a fix? There are 5 of my friends who have still yet to get a game. I have faith in it will be fixed at some point, but some of my friends have given up hope.

@dirge: On the one hand it would be nice to see some more players on!! On the other i couldn′t really recommend to buy it in its actual state....
