Post » Sun May 13, 2012 4:43 pm

Hi guys and girls i m kinda new to Skyrim , and i would like somebody to help me on how to build a melee caracter.
I m a Nord and i wanna use a one handed sword on both hands or one handed and a shield. In which attributes shouls i put my points cause i m kinda confused.
Now i have a steel sword which i made it 17 and a nord sword but i cant make it stronger cause it needs to level up some attributes which i dont know. also i finished the claw quest and i got a stone which i dont know where to use it. And last what is the dual weapon skill under the one handed...?
Thanks in advanced

Well first you should decide if you wanna go dual or 1+shield. I suppose you could rotate through both, but that would be a waste of some valuable perks that you could invest in smithing and heavy/light armor.

I would personally recommend Blocking and One Handed. Max the first One Handed perk to boost your damage 100%, and then choose if you want to focus on a sword, mace, or war axe and max the appropriate perk. You could do all 3, but I prefer some degree of specialization on my characters.

Also, like I said above, make sure you invest heavily in smithing. An easy way to boost it is just creating iron daggers, but be careful not too boost too high too early.

From what i have heard it screws up leveling. Either buffs you too much or makes the enemies too powerful, can't remember. I believe that the smithing boost is some type of glitch (at least imo it is). Creating iron daggers shouldn't boost you as much as it does. Seriously like 2 or 3 daggers ups your smithing a level, and before you know it you level up as a character. Every time I go and 'power smith' I level up at least twice....I dunno. It could take the fun out of the game if you do it too much I think

It is the smithing skill you need to make it stronger. Buy some steel ingots from the blacksmith, get your smithing to 30 and get the Steel Smithing perk, and boost your Steel Sword. Makes a big difference.

Um enchantments maybe? I think you need to boost your enchantment tree. Not sure. Never use enchanted items.
