building a PC to play skyrim on ultra settings

Post » Sun Aug 05, 2012 12:27 am

hi everyone, I'm building a PC so i can play sky rim on ultra settings with mods - figured if i was going to get into mods then i might as well build a high end computer :D

so I'm going to be building this computer:

I'm sure this is a good build but i wanted to get some clarification

does the color of the components matter e.g. hard drive disk red blue green and black? do they all need to be the same color?

thank you to anyone that can help :)

If you really want some good advice on what you need, you should post in http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1397168-the-community-tech-thread-no-117/ what you want. They helped me in selecting the parts in my current build. See my sig for that.

After a few mods, like an ENB, you won't be running ultra 60 FPS with that rig, but it will suffice.

As for colour, it doesn't matter what the parts are, some people like to match things though. Also, I didn't watch that whole video, but the list of parts in the description is not a working computer, also keep in mind the age of that video, PC components improve daily.

It's pretty easy to build, just take things slow and read directions. Good luck.

It doesn't matter if you have a $10000 rig, Skyrim can't take advantage of it anyway. Almost any decent enthusiast rig is massive overkill for this game. Directx9 Bethesda...really?

thank you for the reply :)

even if i run on high and not ultra will i get smooth FPS? and you say its not a working computer, meaning it won't work at all or i need to build it? because I'm expecting to build a computer shall be my first :)

so colors don't matter got it, will be duly noted :)

I'm only using this video as i know it works together, i don't want to buy a bunch of random parts put them together and find that i didn't get something correct which caused my rig to melt down into molten lava :/

this is not a 10,000 pound rig i've done the maths and have come up with 600 pound max not including windows and monitor
