Buy it on PC or 360?

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 1:38 pm

Hello, I cannot decide whether to buy Skyrim for the 360 or for the PC. I have played Morrowind and Oblivion on the Xbox so I am used to the controls but I am tempted to buy it on the PC because it might have better graphics (is that true?)

So I was wondering, what do you guys think? I have a good computer, and a good TV. Should I get it on 360 or the PC?

PC. No doubt about it. Mods are reason enough. As long as your Pc can handle it, that is (which you seem sure it can). Pc should have better graphics by default, but these can be pushed even farther by texture replacing mods in the future.

PC and get a 360 Controller. Best of both worlds until some mod makes a PC-friendly UI.

The graphics are better when you crank them up all the way at 1080p, and you'll get a better framerate than you would on console.

I am now quite persuaded to get it on the PC, but how would playing with a 360 controller work? Would I have to buy something to make it work in the computer?

That's only if you have a wireless controller. If you have a normal wired 360 controller, you can just plug it in and get the drivers from the microsoft website and it should work.

I have a dream...

One day developers will quit being lazy and start giving parity to each platform.

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA....ok, that's crazy.

The man at Gamestop suggested getting the console version instead of PC because of the way it is released and said it would run better on XBox, which I never bought. They made the console version then "converted?" it to pc. I bought pc version anyway because I don't want to buy a whole console outfit. So it's up to you if you think your pc will run it but he told me it would run better on console.

PC's UI is utter [censored]... Unless you use a 360 controller.

Microsoft smiling all the way to the bank... Wonder how much of kick back did Bethesda get?

If you use a Mouse and Keyboard, you're screwed... Because for every 5 minutes of fun, you get 1-2 minutes of pure hair inducing rage.

The only actual "PC Gamers" who say they "don't mind" or "like" the UI are the "rabid fan boys".

Read the PC subsection before you choose the PC version... Otherwise go XBox, either way Microsoft wins.

If you have a GAMING computer then yes, PC. If not then don't even bother with it. Make sure your PC can run it before you go out and buy it, you might be disappointed if you can only run it on average or low graphics settings.

Well...at least we have one to make! Lots of games make you wait months for the console release.

I have a dream that one day people will realize that starting a thread to ask what to play on causes major eruptions of flames from the members who are very closely tied to their choice of platform or console and thus will go to all lengths to protect it from insults and would rather fight than switch.

I have a dream that one day these threads will cease to exist so that we can all come together as one, playing and enjoying the same game on our preferred equipment and talk about the game we all share.

But in the meantime, reality sets in and I realize that that day has not come so I lock the threads prior to them exploding with "my dog is better than your dog" posts.

Please play on what you want. Nobody but you knows your opinions or your situation.
