Bye for now

I have finished with Skyrim for now until the GOTY is released on PS3 so here are some DLC ideas and what I want from the GOTY edition.

Collectors GOTY edition
To include - The game, strategy guide(with DLC chapters) and the art book that was given the first time but including art from the DLCs. I could not afford the collectors edition with the statue but the art book is all I really wanted so I hope they make it available again.

DLC ideas
1) Continuation of all guild storylines
College of winterhold – The eye of Magnus is acting up and the Psijic order need you and the staff on Magnus to came to the island of Artaeum and stop it.
Reward – join the order and learn new spells, get new robes, staffs and enchantments.

Companions – Help Kodlak free other werewolf members of the Companions from Hircine’s curse and bring them to Sovngarde. Travel to Hircine’s hunting ground and free all Companions from there aswell. If you like being a werewolf then choose to help Hircine and stop Kodlak.
Reward – Help Kodlak – Ysgramors armour, Kodlaks weapon, counjer Kodlak and Ysgramor to fight for you (shout).
Help Hircine – Travel to the hunting grounds and hunt whenever you want, become a more powerful werewolf, werewolf armour, Skyforge can make light Daedric leather armour(made from wolf fur).

Thieves guild/nightingale – Someone is foolish enough to try and steal the skeleton key again, you hear Nocturnal call and the Nightingale must stop theme at all cost.
Reward– Unique armours and weapons worn by each of the key thieves, new power given to you by Nocturnal (possibly a conjure shadow lesser power that turns all light and fires off temporarily to enhance you stealth), increased carrying capacity and no fast travel block when over encumbered.

Dark Brotherhood – Besides being able to visit the void and meet the night mother in person cant really think on anything.

Civil War – The mute, help Ulfric become high king or help Elisif. Go and speak to the Jarls of the 9 holds and persuade them to vote for your chosen side by completing quest they give you.
Reward– New armour (different for chosen side), new position with new benefits (like thane but for all of Skyrim). If male and you help Elisif then she becomes a marriage option and if female and you helped Ulfric he become available for marriage.

Greybeards – If you do not kill Paarthurnax then the Beards will send you on a quest to find a powerfull and long forgotten Shout in a burial mound that no one new existed.
Rewarde– New shout, Greybeards robes (shout recharge 30% faster and are 30% more powerful, as enchantment), new weapon.

2) Main quest continuation
You are dragon born so you must be the next emperor and restore the dragon blood to the throne.

To claim the throne you must travel to cyrodiil and forcibly remove the thalmor from the imperial city in a huge battle and once they have gone (for now) you are told that there is a way to make a new amulet of kings and relight the Dragonfires.

What happened to Alduin? Hope we find out.

Cloud Ruler Temple reopened as you re-establish the Blades as the emperors personal protectors.

3) Dwemer – We all want to know what happened to them and it’s about time that we do. I think the story would mean traveling back in time with the elder scroll and witnessing first hand what happened even helping them and be part of the reason they vanished and once you return to the present time you know exactly how to bring them back.
I have yet to play Morrowind so I do not know what happened but what if Yagrum Bagarn comes to Skyrim and you must help him discover what happened to the dwarves, would that work?

4) Other
Tomb of Talos – visit the burial site of Talos, fight hordes of Drough and Snakes (the snake that Talos is stepping on in the shrine statue), work your way past every trap and puzzle know and more that are not, kill the boss defending the puzzle door and carrying the platinum dragon claw enter and face Talos himself who will test your worth and if you do then you are rewarded.
Rewards – snake hide for snake skin leather armour, Talos armour (one worn in the shrine statue), Talos sword, 3 new man made shouts (like dragon rend was), powerful ancient amulet of Talos.

Character creation - New hair styles, face and body paint, beards, scars and body scars, brow types and weird eye colours.

Armours Weapons –
Horse armour (at least just for Shadowmere).
Frostbite spider armour (made from the exoskeleton) and frostbite fang dagger (with permanent frostbite venom effect).
Crossbows.
Dragon bone and scale weapon sets.
Return of mithril armour and weapons.
Silent poisonous blow darts.
Dog armours for you four legged companion.

First person horse riding.

A way to gain more perks.

Use Dragon souls for enchantments (10,000 points - grand and black are worth 3,000).

New Dragon type -lightning- so all 3 destruction types are covered.

Barbers shop so my character can at least change hair, beard and paint for a reasonable price.

I would like to join the Vigilants of Stendarr and hunt down some deadra, werewolf, necromancers and more or infiltrate and destroy theme from within.

Better menu system with
bigger text,
categories for all items, armour and weapons,
quest objects to have there own menu,
dragon soul counter,
equipped items to have own menu,
homes to be a fast travel map location,
and check the skill menu without being forest to level up if you do not want to.

Be able to play all 3 instruments in a tavern after the “king olaf's verse” quest like a true bard (music mini game).

DIVORCE.
Pocket telescope to spy on enemy locations and decide if you want to attack (or binoculars).

More variety of gloves and clothes.

Underground bare knuckle fight club witch will include the unarmed skill to make a return with perks and several types of fist weapons like brass knuckles and bladed gauntlets.

Can’t think of anything else for now (besides the complete eradication of all bugs), playing Fallout : New Vegas ultimate edition until GOTY.

I like those ideas.
Except for the emperor one, what if you did not wanted to do DB quests?
Then there will be two emperors, and i like the idea of being an adventurer more.

Nice post, I hope the idea about the artbook will be adopted as there's many of us who couldn't afford it last time.

NEW VEGAS FTW!!!!

QFT :) New Vegas is amazing!

@ OP: Love your DLC ideas. I also feel that once you join the Bard college, you should be able to play an instrument!

Also, a lot of the Thieves Guild members could have possible follow up quests. Rune for example is still looking for clues of his past.

Great ideas all in all. Have fun in New Vegas, maybe we'll meet on the Strip! ;)

It seems that everyone on here has better ideas than Bethesda, maybe they should start employing people from these forums (NOT being sarcastic). I want to see what happened to the Dwemer and raised a month or so ago about telescopes, I want them.

Chances are Bethesda's DLCs won't involve continuation, but separate quest lines. With the exception of Broken Steel, which specifically responded to a prevalent criticism against the closed ending, Bethesda has maintained a policy of minimum impact on the original game world and new content that can be started regardless of where you are in the game and what level you are. Continuing a faction quest line sounds cool, but it also requires a character who has completed it or you need to slog through it all to get to the DLC.

Bethesda could certainly set this policy aside for some reason, as they did with Broken Steel. However I think it's far more likely that they'd open up a new area with a DLC and have separate factions, politics, and NPCs.

Many of your feature requests are quite doable, and very practical I might add. Many people request the moon when discussing DLC and it's nice to see such a reasonable list. Personally I'd be surprised if there wasn't a barber in the first DLC so we can change our hair and facepaint.

Chances are many of these ideas have been kicked around the Bethesda offices before, but either weren't pursued in favor of other things or had to be cut for time. Quite a number of those suggestions are frequent forum requests or have shown up in past games, and I believe one of the stat screens has a dragon soul counter.

Ideas are an important part of the developement process, but implementing them is far more difficult. With a few switched decisions some of the frequent suggestions made on the forums could be in the game and instead we'd be asking for dog followers and the ability to marry NPCs.

There are also a number of people working at Bethesda who were active on the forums before being hired. Kathode, Dalin, Raptormeat, Locklear, and Aerelorn all come to mind - although I know Kathode and Dalin no longer work there, and I believe Raptormeat has moved on as well. I also know someone from the forums who now works at ZOS, and Obscuro is employed at Obsidian and worked on FONV.

On the upside you could be the next Hideo Kojima or Tetsuya Nomura, on the downside you could be the next Todd Howard. I'll be keeping my eye on you. :ninja:

I like most of these ideas, especially the additions to factions. I know they can't do a complete DLC for each one though. I think we may be lucky to get 3 or 4 DLCs, but they are supposed to be big. Maybe some of these ideas can be combined.

I like all the ideas except being Emperor. What would that consist of? Sitting around playing politics? I especially like the expansion of the Mage Q.

Yes I did, all of them, way too much, and I hate the fact that they had to drop the idea of hurting or helping a towns economy by what you sell/buy or steal. But I can live with that honestly.

However I do believe the DLC's will be more like expansions and we will not be seeing any 'Horse Armor' DLC in Skyrim. I haven't seen Bethesda nickle and dime to death their fans like BioWarEA does. Not yet anyway, not anywhere even close.

Excellent ideas with the guild completions, I would also like to see something like that, but I do agree with what has already been said. Not accessible from the get go, couldn't be that big (and Beth has already said they want quality over quantity).

I think a pretty safe bet would be something like the Shivering Isles. If the DLC takes place in one of the Daedric Realms, it can be made nice and big without messing up the existing game.

One of the things listed by the OP (and several others) that would make a fantastic DLC would be the whole dissapearance of the Dwarves. Granted, that was already touched on in Arniel's quest line (College of Winterhold), that being said maybe Beth wants to keep it in the dark. The reason that the Dwarves dissapearing is so interesting is because we don't really know what happened, we can only speculate, which is why we keep thinking about it. Give us the answers, and all of a sudden the intrigue is gone (source: the Star Wars prequels).
